Stock is good.
But I want to try my hand at mod soon.
Putting a covered humbucker like the ones found on a 58' Les Paul on a Standard Strat a good idea? =]

i'd have to say both. i've modded my Dean Vendetta, but a "good stock" guitar would be nice.

most small guitar shops will do it, but that's just where i live. i don't know if all of them will. the Guitar Center in Atlanta (which is the closest one to me) does i believe, but i don't know where you live and i'm rambling on about something that still leaves you with no answer.... sweatdrop

i used to be scared of stuff like that, but i figured i'd never know if i didn't try it. the only thing that you would have to worry about is wires coming loose and soldering them back, but theres really no chance of that unless you pull on them really hard or you have some cheap crappy chinese guitar. since it's a fender strat you should have nothing to worry about.
