Dearest Journal,
It is hard to believe everything that has recently happened to me, but I must admit I am incredibly happy about it. I will soon have a child of my own, a little girl I think, as the boy on ship said that the child was a reborn goddess. I have already decided on a name, Kamalia, I think it's pretty. I spent most of the afternoon clearing out my office in my apartment, since that will be her room, and then painting it. The walls are now a light blue, and once they're dry, I plan on adding an animal print border around the top of the room. I still have to go shopping, seeing that I have no baby things, but I'll do that tomorrow.
I'm not sure that I want to tell my parents, I don't know how they'll react. I would hope that they would be happy for me, but since I am unmarried, I do not know if they will be. They can be rather old fashioned at times, but I suppose that the worst that they can do is refuse to claim me as family. We shall see.
This is bound to be interesting.

Dearest Journal,
The nursery is finished now, and I have picked up everything that I think that I might need. The crib that I bought will grow with her, that way I don't have to worry about updating it right away.
I talked to my parents before I went shopping, they are very happy for me, although I am not sure that they really believe me. Mother did ask me if the child had a father, and I tried to explain how it would work. I finally gave up and just told her that I was adopting the child.
I have tried to make the house as child proof as possible, but until I she arrives, I will not know if I succeeded or not.
This is simply the start of a new challenge.
