Ok..... So am learning to play Variations on "Crying Flute" from this website
http://www.iwn.fi/~hlindhol/flute1.html
Please listen to the mp3 if possible and then I was wondering if anyone had some tips for improving my tone and intonation to sound clearer like this flutist.
Sincerely
- heart

I don't hear anything that sounds out of the ordinary as far as effects go. Is there something in particular that you were trying to work out? If you are wanting to simply improve your tone overall, that is something that's going to come with time. The flutist at work in this recording is probably a MA in flute performance. If you want to improve by a little...um. Perhaps try opening the back of your throat while you play, creating a larger cavern for air to flow up and out and also dropping the jaw. Direct your airstream more so across the flute and try to project out rather than down into the headjoint. There could be any amount of various ways to improve your tone individually, it depends largely on the faults with your tone now, if it is thin and shrill or fuzzy and hollow, as to what you should do to improve it.
Other than that, best of luck with the piece. It's really very beautiful. = ]
