I'm pregnant and my mom wants me to get an abortion. I want to keep the baby. Can she make me do it? I live in Ohio. I'm also afraid she'll hurt me. Can I move in with my bf's family? Can his mom receive custody of me? I really need to get out this house. I can't leave the house unless I'm with my mom. She won't even let me see my bf, the father. Please help.

No one can force you to get an abortion. No one She can march your a** down to Planned Parenthood, and say you want one, but they won't let you get one without talking to you alone. They ask you and make sure you aren't being pressured to get one. It's your body. Even if you are under 18, she cannot make you, so don't let her pressure you to do something you don't want.

As for moving in with him. The only way I can think someone else could get custody of you is if you were married to him, in which case then maaaybe your boyfriend's mom could get custody of you. BUT. Your mother would have to sign off.

Quote:
Age Requirement
What is the minimum age a man or woman may marry?

You must be 18 years old or older to marry without parental consent. A birth certificate may be necessary to show proof of age.
What if one or both of us is younger than 18?

If either partner is under 18, parents or legal guardians must be present. If a parent can not be present, due to death, separation, divorce or other circumstances, proper evidence must be presented for verification. You will need a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you are under 16 you can not marry without a court order.

I am not advocating you marry him. Being pregnant and having a baby together will not guarantee you'll always be together. But, legally, that's the only thing I see.

You could try to contact a lawyer and check out your options, though.

I agree that she cannot technically make you get an abortion, although she could do things like making your life miserable if you stay under her roof without doing what she wants. When my mother brought me to the ob-gyn to get birth control when I was a teen, they took me in a private room to ask me if I really wanted it or if she or anyone else was pressuring me in any way.

As for who you can live with and who can have custody of you, you'll have to look into your state's laws and maybe talk to a lawyer.

However, if you can't even take care of yourself and live on your own, you'll have to seriously consider what you will be doing with this baby. I understand wanting to keep your baby, but also take your baby's needs into consideration. It is not fair, in my opinion, to have a baby in someone else's house when they are paying the bills and had no intentions of raising another baby.

I think that if your bf;s mum is willing to take you under her wing...then yes she might be able to take custody of you. Good luck. Another thing, is your mum cannot force you to have an abortion. It is your baby and unless you are unfit to take care of the baby then there is no reason why you should be able to keep it.
