LOL rather off-topic.
This thread did kind of die. The whole forum did, for a while.
I'm alright. I'm not a student though. Wish I was, I've got work instead. First year of my life without having the summer free.
It's depressing.

I think we should just butt out of the whole issue and leave their people to live the way they want.
It's nothing to do with us, when you get right down to it.
I mean, what if people from another country came over to us and tried to make us live to their rules? Would we stand for it?
Like hell we would.

I mean, it's not like we are helping any. There are three different types of people trying to take over Iraq itself. There won't ever be peace there because everone is after the same thing. The United States thinks they can be sneaky and be like 'Oh yeah, we're helping you!' But subliminally trying to find another gateway to their oil. It's never been about peace, only money. sad

Yes but that doesn't mean we need to do the same to them.
Doesn't that make us just as bad?
We may not have made actually terrorist attacks against them but when even small atrocities add up... it's not right.
There's horror, lies, death and torture on both sides, and nomatter what anyone says about honour or 'staying in the game', we just need to end this before anyone else dies.
It's not worth this.

Sometimes, it's difficult, like in the Vietnam war, to tell who the good guys are and the bad guys are because they aren't really in uniform and they all look the same.
The bad guys take out entire families of their own race, too, because that's one of the ancient ways, going all the way back to Mesopotamia, with dealing things and getting "your message across." I suppose that America and its allies are there using their same tactics to families suspected of being "the bad guys." but sometimes it's too hard to tell.
My mom used to do this "Adopt-a-Soldier" thing where we'd send letters and care packages to soldiers we've been assigned. They'd send letters and pictures back, too. It gave us a reason to watch the news for deaths of soldiers. It's terrible for both sides, really. Some are just doing what they're told, whether it's the right thing or the wrong thing, out of fear. I don't think we as people outside of the war can truly fathom what is going on, and the media is not a reliable source because of how slanted it is (*cough*Rolling Stone and Fox News*cough), and I don't think Bush can fathom it, either. There's s**t going on there that possibly not even the President knows about.
