The Commanding Officer must always be best friends with the company Clerk. It started off with Henry and Radar. Then, Potter and Klinger had a special bond.
Hawkeye must always have a response for everything. Especially if he didn't see it coming, he must always have a response for it.
The replacement character has to be similar but different from the character he replaced. Some good examples: Potter and Henry are both big family men. But Potter's special interest is horses and Henry's is fishing. Trapper and BJ are both great friends with Hawkeye. But Trapper cheats on his wife and BJ wouldn't even kiss another woman without feeling guilty about it. Frank and Charles are both jerks. But Frank is totally inept at everything and Charles is an expert surgeon and really cares about his patients.
You got any?

rolleyes Well, if I had an excellent memory, then I would have done better in school.

No character can get in permanent trouble, no matter what they have done. Most specifically Hawkeye and his numerous jaunts to annoy and confront the peace talks. Or the many pranks that have been played through out the years.
Ambulances always show up at the worst moment possible.

Potter must use at least one "Curse word" per episode.
Radar must always know what the person's going to say.

These are good! I love how you say them and then I am like "oh yeah!" I wish I could think of one...alas, I can't at the moment.

I really like these and I thought I had one to add to it, but alas, it has slipped from my mind.

with the Exception of the last episode all peace talks end up being false. Nobody ever wants to say goodbye. Even though she comes acroos as a Major B***h , Margeret always had a good heart and secretly loved Hawkeye.

Every character must have at least one momentary lapse in judgement that is never actually acted upon- BJ- The woman he almost cheats on Peg with Radar- the tattoo Klinger- re-enlisting
The list goes on...

The mess tent slop that Igor serves must smell and taste awful.
Hawkeye must always smell his food before eating it.
People new to Pierce and McIntyre/Hunnicutt rotgut must always be suprised that it tastes like battery acid.
