I don't get the stat growth.

._.

So, if lets say, Katsu has the Lurker job on. Then, he levels up so he gets x points to the stats...permanently?

If that's the case, then I'll go switch everyone to the class that gives the best stat bonuses when they reach 99% experience. ._.

I think that a fixed stat bonus with a little room for diversity(am I using the right word here? xp ). For example, I gain 8 stat points. Those stat points would be automatically added to certain stats for me. Lets say, 1.5 to str, 2.5 to agi, 1 to spirit and 3 to dex.. Then, the game gives me like...2 bonus points so that I could improve stats that I want to improve. That way, we don't get a wrong build, and we can still have varying stats.

Well all of the classes improve their stats by the same amount of points, so you won't get unbalanced. But each class focuses on the stats that are more important/logical for them. I have to update the rates, because I've changed a lot of them, but even as they are now, you don't get a loss of power from your class. I may take the bonus point thing into consideration however. Keep in mind a lot of this is still being tweaked (in fact, it came close to a d20-esque reworking). I''ve got a few other ideas, but I don't want to reveal them until I know I can program it.

Here's an example of how the stat growth system compares:

Lurker: +1.8 to STR
+1.5 to DEX
+1.8 to VIT
+1.7 to SPR
+1.7 to AGI
Total Stat Growth: +8.5

Gambler: +1.5 to STR
+1.8 to DEX
+1.8 to VIT
+1.7 to SPR
+1.7 to AGI
Total Stat Growth: +8.5

All classes match up like this except for the newbie, which only has a couple skills and terrible stat growth.

Update!

New Battle System (maybe)
Over the past few days I've been retooling the battle system, because I noticed a small problem with the numbers after a little bit of crunching them. Namely the skills were simply not powerful enough. So I've retooled the battle system a bit and changed some formulas. This time around instead of starting out with an average of 5 in all stats, the average will be 70. You can go up to Level 50 (that may increase later)

New Stat Growth!
Building off of Katsu's idea of combining automatic stat growth with bonus points, I've decided to come up with a new level up system. When you level up, all stats get a random boost betweeen 5 and 5.5. You also gain 14 AP. What's AP you ask? Attribute Points!

Simply go to the new Upgrade screen and select an attribute, and BOOM! It goes up by 1 for every 1 AP you throw at it. But be wary, you can only increase each attribute by 4 per level this way, so you can't just pour all 14 AP into Strength. Keep in mind that you can also increase your HP or SP this way.

14 is a magic number too, because if you so choose, and you don't really want to have to think about stats, you can simply put 2 points into each attribute and be done with it.

Those that want a challenge are in luck, since you are not required to spend this 14 AP per level. You can let it sit on your character for the whole game, creating an ultra weak character for an extra challenge.
