Unimprezzed
From what I know about human anatomy, the brain can only last two minutes without oxygen. (I think that's what I heard. If anyone finds this statement incorrect please tell me.)

Actually, the brain does not begin to die for approximately 6 minutes after blodd flow stops. IF you can get blood flow to start anywhere in that 6 minutes, and if oxygen is being delivered, then cardiac death is reversed and brain death is avoided. However, if you can't find out why you dropped in the first place, it's a moot point cuz you're gonna just die again!

Some statistics that TV watchers don't know: (cuz on TV everyone survives if CPR is done!)
CPR is only about 6% effective when started outside a hospital, even if started immediately. So if you croak, and you happen to be standing next to someone with training, you only have a 6/100 chance of living.
Move now to the hospital. We have everyone trained, and we have defibrillators EVERYWHERE! You drop dead in a hospital in front of trained people who start CPR immediately, your chance of survival goes up---to a whopping 15%!
These stats sound horrible-- unless you look at the one that says if no one tries you have a 0% chance! LOL

OOOh then lets talk about organ transplants!
You take a liver, heart, etc from a dead body.
It can stay out of a body for 12- 48 hours without being damaged (depends on the organ as to how long).
Put in a new body, and off it goes, doing it's job!
Leave those same organs in the original dead body and they start to degrade within an hour.

I know, I am gross.... mrgreen

I don't know alot about ressurection, but I do think it would be funny to work in a morgue. Here's why:

There've been loads of cases reported of the bodies on the slabs 'rising' spontaneously. Mostly this is because the decomposition of tissue causes gas to build up in the body. The pressure causes the bodies to be pushed up, sometimes even sitting up straight, and in alot of cases burping.

When we leave our body and the spirit continues its journey into the light (spirit realms) our body is free to decay and return to the dirt from which it came. The spirit is the immortal part of our being.

Yeahh, that's why if you're planning to kill someone you don't dump them in water without a weight attatched... or they'll just rise right back atcha! well, not straight away of course... wink

I really don't think it is possible- once your body starts to decay... well, it isn't functioning! no electrical impulses traveling along those nerves, no messages getting to muscles for movement, no intake of oxygen to allow the muscles to WORK, no blood flowing to allow that to happen. And even if the brain doesn't die after 6 minutes, it becomes permanently damaged. Even if the heart and lungs miraculously started working again, none of the other vital organs would be functioning properly (if at all)... ... well basically I think once you're dead, you're DEAD. Except in those few cases when they get then back in the first couple if minutes.

Zenigata Haibaru
i have heard rumors of scientist being able to re-abilitate cells. ive also heard that some people seem to "come back" after they "pass away". this brings me to this question........if the body is nothing more than a mere battery, could it be re-charged when it dies?

The body starts to degenarate As soon as death happens. with that said it's impossible for reanimation to occur. nueral connections would start to severe and gravity will make all liquids go downwards. Sorry, aint gonna happen.
