I've noticed that in a lot of manga series when a guy gets perverted thoughts his nose begins to bleed and I was wondering what the significfants of this was. I also was wondering why whenever a manga character is out in the rain for long they end up with a cold the next morning, day, etc. Does it have something to do with the culture in Japan?

Nosebleeds come from a common folk-belief in Japan that Sexual excitement in men leads to a change in blood pressure and causes a nosebleed. So, the more blood flow, the greater arousement in the man.

"Don't stay out in the cold/wet too long or you'll catch a cold!" How many times have you heard that?
