i've begun an interest in synastry. not just cursory relationship analysis, i mean an in-depth look at the relationship between any two people: friends, lovers, coworkers, family, whatever. does anyone have some good websites or books they can point me towards, or even just a list of basic patterns and aspects to look for?

There's a book called the secret language of relationships, by Gary Goldschneider and Joost Elffers, which has descriptions of personality based on week (i.e. week 1 aries, week 3 pisces, cancer-leo cusp, etc) and then a description of a relationship between every week of the year and every other week of the year.

Uncannily I am also looking for a good website/book which explains both Synastry and Composite chart. Right now my question is, which do you use to look to see if a person is compatible or not? I've got a situation at hand here, where I'm more compatible with one person in synastry but our composite chart totally sucked and another with a superb composite chart (exactly what I want out of a relationship) but we have a rather sucky synastry. Which would you bet your money on?

Use both. Check them against each other. I heard synastry is good for initial attraction whereas composite is good for long term.

3nodding i've heard that composite charts often indicates stuff "below the surface," so to speak.
though i don't think any chart can be out and out shitty; it's up to you to make the final decision. it might be fun to have us look at those charts, if you don't mind sharing them!

I've sort of had such an inkling after thinking about this question. And it may prove to be correct after all! At least in my experience it seems to be.
