When I went to All County, the section leader was a guy. He was cool, too.

There may be plenty of fish in the sea I'm a clarinettist, although I am admittedly a girl... in my band there are four clarinets, half girls half boys, and in my orchestra there are four guys and three girls. So, no, clarinets aren't really a girly instrument... Flutes though, now flutes are DEFINITELY a girly instrument. 3nodding but who really wants to date a fish?

well, im one of 3 male clarinetists in our band. basically all the trumpets are guys and all but 1 of the flutes are girls and all oboes/french horns are girls, and all lower brass/woodwind are guys. so it doesnt really matter.

One of our drum majors plays clarinet. And he's first chair.
But there are only two others, out of thirteen. Dx

I'm a male clarintist and I have been for over 10 years. when I started in 5th grade there were 2 boys (the other dropped band fairly quickly) and about 4 girls. That was at 1 elementary, we had 3 (and still have 3 elementarys). In middle I was the only boy, but one year we had some one try but did not last long. My middle and high school band director (same person) was a male clarinetist. In high school there was betten 4 to 6 of us a year. I played in the All Ohio State Fair Band and there were 47 of us clarinetist about a dozen of us were males. I am now in college we do not have a band on our campus so I play with my high school alumni band. I am usually the only male clarinetist unless my old band director joins us or it is home coming, but he usually plays sax do to the low number of sax players in the group or watching from the side at home coming.

I'm a male and I play the clarinet. I switch between bassoon and clarinet. There used to be two other male clarinetists, but one of them quite and another graduated. The three of us, were first chair respectivly when ever we were in the clarinet section. Unfortunately the three of us weren't in the clarinet section at the same time, for random reason.
