Betcha guys didn't know that a pirate's eyepatch isn't used to cover up a goug'd out eye, but instead is used for nightvision.

I know, awesome, isn't it.
What Discovery channel does to people.
When it's dark, it takes a human some time for their eyes to adjust to the darkness. While your rods and cones are adjusting, everythingyou see is pitch black.
For pirates, they have one eye constantly in the dark so when it's dark and they are forced to battle, they switch eyes and their rods and cones in their eyes don't have to change gears.

And just a sidenote ;; pirates overpower neenjahs anyday.
