Mexican holiday. Stroy goes two groups were fighting like, all the time, until finally only the leaders were alive. They shot each other in the head on May 5th, and the people who weren't in either of the groups were so happy the fighting was over, they celebrated.
(The groups were the Burrito group and the Jimmy Chonga (?) group)
(I know I got the second groups' name wrong...)

Wikipedia says that it actually commemorates the Mexicans victory over the occupational forces of the French. I thought I was a bit strange how those names were of a type of food and what I think is an alcoholic beveridge, cannot be sure of that though.

Turns out chimichanga is actually fried burrito.

my old school used to have a spirit day on cinco de mayo. it was mainly to "reward" us for are "hard work" during the star tests but it was always cinco de mayo themed. we'd make these pretty tissue paper flowers for our hair and have virgin marguritas and stuff. it was fun smile
