I got good news and bad news. Good news; I'm back. Bad news; I got medically separated from the Navy two days before Battle Stations (the very last test you have and the one that decides if you graduate or not.) I injured myself running my final Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) to the point they deemed I would not heal in the max time I could stay in boot camp. So rather than give me veteran status, they kicked me out , Entry Level Medical Separation, so I could come back in a years time.
Long story short? I blew my knee out about two weeks before my final PFA. So I was sent to something known as RCU ("Recruit Cuddle Unit"), also known as the "Island of Broken Toys." I healed roughly a months worth of damage in less than two weeks, ran my final PFA. My statistics were; 92 push ups in two minutes, 97 sit ups and running 1.5 miles in 10:23. It was more like 1.9miles since I run on the outside of the track. Anyway, I blew my knee out on the run on the tenth of thirteen laps. Still managed to finish in my alloted time.
Anyhow, I was put on Battle Stations Hold. Annnd... well they sent me home with a fractured wrist, dislocated knee, tore tendon, three pulled tendons and a shin stress fracture. Not the whole story, but close enough. I have many tales yet to tell.
