I was looking through the magic database.
when i thought about making a Ur deck.
I picked Intet, although it was only a hard choice between seven of the ten ur dragon avatars.
(There are technically 11 Ur dragon cards if you include Scion of teh Ur Dragon)
each Ur Dragon Avatar has a powerful ability, connected with hits primary color.
the first five, were all about allied colors, and an ability depending on the amount of a certain color you picked.
Darigaaz dealt damage to the opponent for each card of a certain color in their hand.
Crosis forced discard of all cards of a certain color
Dromar bounced all cards of a certain color
Treva gained life equal to the permanents of a certain color
Rith created 1/1 saprolings for the permanents of a certain color.

of these, only Rith and Treva really stand out as solid cards. Crosis loses his ability advantage quickly, Dromar has a 3/5 chance of bouncing himself. and a 3/5 chance of bouncing at least one color of your army.
Darigaaz was only dealing bonus damage if your opponent had non artifact, nonland cards.

Teneb reanimated (but with his 6/6 for 6 flying body he is grand)
Numot kills two lands for the price of hitting with a 6/6 and paying for a stone rain.
Vorosh's attack increases every time you pay 2G and deal damage to an opponent.
Oros is racist and sunlances everything he can.
Intet grants you extra cards, and you don't even have to pay the mana for them to play.

all five of these are viable. their disadvantages were merely that their colors were a little strange, going with enemy colors then allied colors.

but, Which one is the best?

I've seen a lot more people using the newer dragons, which I can definitely understand with Teneb and Vorosh, but I'm not as sure with the others. Rith, Treva and Darigaaz are great as well.

And Scion of the Ur-Dragon is a must since we can be any of them for one turn.

Darigaaz isn't really that great, the smaller your opponents hand i, the less bonus damage he deals. Treva and Rith i can udnerstand.
Teneb in reanimation, Vorosh with pumping.
But Oros and Intet have a different set of advantages. Numot i can see as another dragon that won't see too much play due to his ability only hindering your opponent, not helping you like the other dragons.

as for the Scion, the best thing i can think of with hims is using him to search out the other dragons for Teneb to revitalize.

I tend to gravitate to Intet since he shrins your deck, and lets you play those cards for free.

Best strategy: Scion for burying; Teneb for rezzing. Simply use a hell of a lot of tutors and/or transmutors and get Scion. Then get Teneb into graveyard and deal damage with scion to rez Intet. Next turn, Ressurect, Breath of Life or Zombify Teneb, and Voila! Total and utter devastation.

Darigaaz is amazing, I don't know what you are talking about, he will usually hit for at least 10 the first time he hits. You complain about his ability being short lived, well, it really does matter because so is you opponent. I've killed mono colored decks with him in one swing because I end of turn dragon arched him into play and they didn't see it coming. A seven card hand of all of the same color means he will kill in a single swing. And even if he only hits for 10 the first time, that means you opponent has to drop all his colored tings on the board or die immediately, and then still be taking another flat 6 the next turn.

Darigaaz is actually the best at killing your opponent on his own from the first cycle and only Vorosh outshines him in that.

Yes dromar is pretty bad, but when you think about it, the colors you can call, red and green, are the most likely the be hurt by a mass bounce effect as they are most likely to be playing agro.

Crosis effect really only needs to hit once. If you take five cards out of someone's hand, you got a dragon and persecute, and then just kill them because they have nothing left to play to deal with your dragon.

Treva is actually the worst of the 5 on her own. She relies on there being a lot of other colored permanents to be good, she is however, the best in conjunction with another, and that is Rith, they are really good together.

Yes, Rith is good, we know.

Teneb is amazing, in fact, the only dragon from the new cycle that is not very good at winning you the game is Oros, he relies on your opponent playing agro for his ability to matter, and non-white agro at that. A very narrow window don't you think.

Rith, The Awakener is easily the best... second would be Numot... come on... the more saprolings you get, the more you can just say green and pump your army to make it even more massive XD... and who doesn't love killing lands??

im guessing this is going to be an extended deck.. so..

dragon arch x 4 - seeing as you're playing with all these dragons, this is a must have.
1 x of all the useful dragons
a hell of a lot of mana accel and card drawing
4 x scion
brainspoil to transmute for the scion? maybe. your main strategy is going to be reanimation using teneb and the scion, but as you can only really reanimate one card using the scion as teneb, i would reccomend using 4 x dread return as well

oh, and earnest fellowship might well be a good bet!
