You've just settled into a plush, comfortable chair in the library with an enticing new book when you hear giggles and guffaws from behind a wall. After a few attempts to return to your book, you mark your page and give into the temptation to see where the noise is coming from. You descend the stairs from the seating loft and follow the increasing volume of laughter until you spot a door hidden underneath the stair. Curious, you quietly open the door to reveal a smaller room behind the bookshelves of the library. You step in, close the door behind you, and take a look around.
It looks like some kind of game room. Someone is standing at a large pad of paper on a presentation easel, quickly writing out words as the little group around her shouts out sentences. Another group is sitting in a circle holding what appears to be a story-go-round. There are several groups you notice, and, book in arm, you wander in to the Trivia in Jeopardy group.

(Please note that you may play in more than one of the game rooms at once.)
Please read the rules before you post.
This trivia game is set up like a game of Jeopardy, in which one poster states the answer, and the next poster gives the question. However, to keep the game moving, and in consideration of the fact that we all have gaps in our libraries, I will ask you to post one answer from two different books / authors in a single post. Example:First Person Answer #1: This book, written by a woman, is believed to be the oldest novel in the world. Answer #2: This author, considered the father of the detective story, died in a gutter. The next person will choose one answer to respond to and then post two more answers:Second Person First Person Answer #2: This author, considered the father of the detective story, died in a gutter. Question # 2: Who is Edger Allen Poe? Answer #1: XXX Answer #2 YYY Of course, if you would like to answer both, please go ahead.
If you post, please check back to see if the person who responded to your answers gave the correct question. Then, please quote the person and say whether or not the answer was correct. If the question was incorrect, also post the right question. Example:First Person Second Person First Person Answer #2: This author, considered the father of the detective story, died in a gutter. Question # 2: Who is Edger Allen Poe? Correct. smile If you wish to continue playing, please do so in another post.
Please try to choose answers that are objective rather than subjective. Don't, for example, say something like "This novel is the best-liked horror story in the world."
Also, try to stay near books and authors that are fairly well known.
