M*A*S*H has had a total of three spinoff shows which one do you like best

Trapper John, M.D. was a spinoff of the film MASH that ran on CBS from September 23, 1979 to September 4, 1986. It featured 'Trapper John' McIntyre 28 years after he had left the 4077th MASH. The series had Trapper working as chief of surgery at the San Francisco Memorial Hospital. In this incarnation, Trapper was played by Pernell Roberts.

AfterMASH was a sitcom that ran for two seasons (1983-1985) on CBS. A spin-off of the long-running hit series M*A*S*H, AfterMASH took place immediately following the end of the Korean War and chronicled the adventures of three characters from the original series: Colonel Sherman Potter (Harry Morgan), Max Klinger (Jamie Farr) and Father Francis Mulcahy (William Christopher). These were the M*A*S*H actors who had voted in the minority when the cast elected not to continue the original series.
Synopsis
In the pilot episode, Colonel Potter returns home from Korea to his wife Mildred. He finds retirement boring, so he returns to work as the chief of staff at General Pershing Veteran's Hospital ("General General"). Max Klinger has found himself in trouble with the law in Toledo, disowned by his family for marrying a Korean, and unable to find an apartment that will rent to a mixed-race couple, so he contacts Colonel Potter and soon thereafter he is hired as his assistant and leaves Toledo. Father Mulcahy, whose hearing was damaged in the final episode of M*A*S*H, is now suffering from depression and drinking heavily. After his hearing is surgically corrected, he stops drinking and joins Potter and Klinger at the veteran's hospital as the chaplain.

W*A*L*T*E*R was a pilot for a spin-off of M*A*S*H made in 1984 that was never picked up. It starred Gary Burghoff.

The show related the adventures of Corporal Walter (Radar) O'Reilly after he had returned home from the Korean War. The woman he had romanced during his final appearance on M*A*S*H was nowhere to be found. More importantly, he was no longer calling himself "Radar" and he had moved away from Iowa (his mother having died). Taking root in St. Louis, Missouri, he had become perhaps the world's gentlest police officer.

Difficulties in showing
Since the pilot was never picked up by CBS as a series, it was shown as a "CBS Special Presentation" in July of 1984. It was shown once in the eastern and central time zones of the United States, but pre-empted on the West Coast by CBS News coverage of the Democratic National Convention. This is the only known broadcast of the pilot.
Timeline
The episode takes place after the series finale of M*A*S*H, and a two part guest appearance on AfterMASH, in which Radar was forced to leave the family farm.
Synopsis
The episode opens with Walter O'Reilly in his apartment of his cousin, Wendell Micklejohn. They are getting ready for their workday while watching the start of a television interview. The interview shows journalist Clete Roberts following up on the members of the M*A*S*H 4077th. Last week Roberts interviewed Hawkeye Pierce and this week he is catching up with O'Reilly. At the police department and on the street in front of stores, O'Reilly and Micklejohn catch pieces of the television interview, giving viewers of the pilot a chance to sample the potential series and to build a bridge between the events of M*A*S*H and W*A*L*T*E*R. Viewers learn that O'Reilly returned to Iowa, where he failed at farming. He sold the farm and the animals and sent his mother off to live with his aunt. His bride left him after a honeymoon for another man. O'Reilly decided to commit suicide and went to a drug store to buy sleeping pills for an overdose, and aspirin (because the sleeping pills give him headaches). The drugstore worker, Victoria, cheers him up and they became good friends. His cousin Micklejohn helped him get a job on the police force. Walter solves a dispute between two strippers, and gets his wallet back from a young would-be thief whose older brother died in Korea. The pilot seems to show that W*A*L*T*E*R would have been light-hearted, simple comedy, in keeping with the O'Reilly character of M*A*S*H, but without the social value of the parent show.

Although I haven't seen any of them yet, AfterM*A*S*H has an ep named after Les Miserables and it has Father Mulcahy.

That alone makes it win.

Actually haven't heard of any of them before joining this guild.

Though, I'd probably want to see the After Mash one.

I now want to watch W*A*L*T*E*R and AfterM*A*S*H, they sound interesting.

There was a debate at one point that Trapper John, MD, wasn't actually a spinoff of M*A*S*H. But a stand alone series that was losely based on a Korean veteran surgeon. Supposedly it alluded to M*A*S*H, but producers said it wasn't related.

I could however be wrong about this information. I'll look it up later.

The creators of M*A*S*H filed a lawsuit angainst the creators of trapper john saying that it was a spinoff if their show but it was determined to be more of a spinoff of the movie then the show

My favorite spin-off is defintely Trapper John, MD. But, that was the only one that ever got a chance to really spread it's wings. From what I have seen of AfterMASH it looked like it had a lot of potential, but maybe that's just because I liked the M*A*S*H Characters in the first place.

I would be very interested in seeing the pilot episode of W*A*L*T*E*R and the episodes of AfterMASH. I am guessing the chances are slim to none we will see an official release of those, unfortunatly.

Ok, I think that's where I was getting confused. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
