Sybil was very excited as she and Rime took the bus to the Kinder Apartments. They were to meet Iasc there to swim in the pool on the first floor. Sybil had never gone swimming before, but she had been jealous of the others that she was the only one who couldn't.
She held onto a small bag tightly, one that contained her towel and some things for taking a shower afterwards. She was wearing her suit under her clothes, so she could change quickly.
"Where is she, Momma? Is she here yet?" she asked, almost begging as they entered the lobby of the building.
"I don't know, sweetie, let's take a look around first," Rime said, and suited actions to words, looking around the lobby. Sybil fairly danced at her side as she, too, scanned the room.

Iasc leaned against a wall, her long pink hair momentarily dying it pink. It was very long even in a high pony tail. Her tail swished side to side waiting for Rime and Sybil to arrive. She was always impatient when it came to water. She just wanted to get in now. Her bathing suit was also under her clothes and she was in her normal pink miniskirt and grey hoodie.
She looked up spotting Sybil and Rime, waved and then ran ovet to them excited. Her ears flicked up enthusiastically as she greeted them both. "Hiya Sybil, Hello Rime!" she said happily. "Are you ready to learn how to swim today Sybil?"

Rime nodded to Iasc with a smile, and Sybil practically flew over to where Iasc stood, helped along by healthy flaps of her wings. They were too small to actually carry her, but they did help her move faster.
"Yeah! This will be so fun! I'll learn fast, you know," she stated, sure of herself, and pulled on Iasc's hand to make the older girl come with. She headed in the direction of the pool.
Rime trailed after the pair, intending to sit at one of the lounge tables in the pool room and catch up on a bit of paperwork she'd been neglecting. She trusted Iasc, but she still felt safer if she could keep watch.

Iasc was started by the ethusiasm of the young girl but happily allowed herself be grabbed and dragged into the changing rooms. After they quickly changed into their suits they headed to the pool, Iasc starting to feel the familiar joy of water. It was simply just in her blood. "Can you stand in the shallow end of the pool?" she asked Sybil kindly, her tail flicking with excitement.

Sybil dropped her towel on a chair, and nodded. "Okay," she said, and climbed down the ladder into the pool.
It turned out she couldn't quite reach the bottom, as she was a quite average height for her age, and so instead clung to the ladder once she realized she couldn't feel the bottom. Suddenly this was a lot scarier than she'd thought before.
She didn't want to tell Iasc her predicament, but what else was there to do? "Uhm...? I can't... reach..." she said, sounding apologetic.

Iasc walked over to her, her tail acting as a mini prupeller. "Don't worry now! Its okay. Water's your friend." she said grasping Sybil by the armpits. "Now what I want you to do is to start kicking as hard as you can okay?" Iasc said smiling. She couldn't remember when or how she had learned to swim. It seemed like she had always been able to do it but that didn't mean that she couldn't teach someone else. Maybe teaching her to float next would be a good idea. It was odd to think that people didn't know how to float in water up obviously it has been proven true.

(( sorry! ^_^; ))
Sybil held onto Iasc's forearms to make her feel more secure, and did as she was instructed, kicking mightily and splashing water everywhere, as she didn't know to keep her feet mostly in the water.
"Yaaah! Like this?" she asked, still going strong. He wings were tight to her back, with the lower halves in the water, making her heavier, but she curled her tail out of the way to make it easier to kick. This was hard, with all the extra appendages!

Iasc watched the little girl try her best, her wings and tail limp. She thought for a while, trying to come up with a way this might me easier on her. "Okay" she said finally. Now what I want you to do is start swishing your tail from side to side while still kicking. She was going to come up with a special stroke especially for the kid so that in no time she would be an expert swimming.
"Now!" she said, moving her hands to under sybils tummy to keep her afloat. "Once you can do that I want you to start moving your arms and wings in a circle infront of you." Iasc told her, hoping that this would actually work. It might be a bit complicated but it was probably the best way to get the kid swimming the fastest. This was her first time ever teaching someone to swim since Kyou, her older brother could and didn't want to learn how to swim.

"Okay, I'll try! Uhm.... like this?" the little girl asked as she moved her tail back and forth, still kicking. That seemed a little easier, since it wasn't weighing her down on one side. She concentrated on getting that right before she moved her arms and wings.
It took a bit, but she got the timing mostly down, putting the tail over the leg that was down and flipping it to the other side as she kicked with the other leg.
"Okay... okay... Uhm... what am I supposed to do now?"she asked, as she doggie paddled with her front arms to keep her front upright. Her wings were still tight to her back, and she'd concentrated so hard on her legs that she'd forgotten Iasc's instructions!

Iasc smiled and clapped. She was certainly getting the hang of it now. "Okay you're doing very well now!" she said smiling brightly. "Now all I need you to do is to move your arms and wings in a circle infront of you. This was you'll be able to move much faster then you are now with you doggy paddle." Iasc said smiling brightly. It was obvious that the child was a natural. Iascs tail waved back and forward behind her, anxious to start swimming for itself.
"Okay like this" she said showing her how to do it. "See its quite easy really, once you get used to it that is. Plus water is your friend so theres really no point in being afraid of it!" she said brightly, showing her the circular movement carefully and slowely. "No do this with both your arms and your wings if you can try to keep your legs and tail going aswell." she said.

A quick learner she might have been, but Sybil wasn't so sure the water was her friend like Iasc said. She seemed to sink awfully easily. But she didn't want Iasc to know she was scared... She didn't want to be called a baby.
So she kept kicking, and put her arms out in front of her, bringing them back towards her in a circular motion. Her wings, however, didn't seem to want to do anything except get soggy and heavy, and the feathers made them drag in the water.
"Couldn't I just use my arms? I don't think my wings like water, Iasc," she said, looking sorry.

Iasc watched her with interest, wondering how to make it easier to learn for Sybil. Since she could remember she could always swim and she never had wings herself so she was unsure of how to help her.
"Hum" she said softly. "I know just fold them up tightly to your sides, that way they wont get in your way or laden you down quite as easily." she said smiling.
"The first rule of swimming is make it comfortable for yourself. You don't need to use your wings if thy only make things more awkward." she said smiling kindly, her tail swishing in the water gently.

Sybil smiled, and did as suggested, pulling her wings in close and just moving her arms and legs. With one less thing to worry about, it suddenly became so much easier to make some forward process, though she was tired by the time she reached the wall which was only a short distance away.
She grabbed hold of it, and turned a triumphant smile to Iasc, saying, "I did it! I did it! Did you see?" She'd almost forgotten her apprehension, now that she was excited again. Her tail swished behind her in the water, too, almost as if mimicking Iasc's excited tail.

Iasc grinned broadly. "Well done Sybil!"she said happily clapping loudly as she did so. She remembered the first time she had learned to swim and had been able to swim across the water without almost drowning. A large feeling of pride swelled up within her for helping Sybil.
"Okay want to try and swim back here again then? Just so you can get used to the motion on such before I teach you certain strokes and stuff?" she said happily, her tail swishing again.

Sybil fairly glowed with pride at the praise she was given, and said, "That was fun!"
She nodded at Iasc's suggestion, and after a bit of psyching herself up, let go of the wall and made her slow, steady way back to Iasc's waiting hands. She had a little trouble keeping herself afloat, since she kept forgetting to keep her tummy tensed up while she concentrated on the arm movement, but she kept her eyes on her goal, and grabbed a hold of the older girl's hands with a smile of triumph.
"I think I'm getting it!" she said, and splashed a little, happily.
"What do you mean, different strokes? There's more than one?" she asked once she'd calmed down, tilting her head to the side curiously. She guessed she'd seen others swimming in different ways, but she'd thought that was just how they swam... not that it was deliberately that way.
