erinluvsducks Jehosaphat I was thinking we could discuss the philisophical conquest of existential, metaphysical non-being pressed against us by the oppressive humanistic overlords. In English, please? The way the governmental and humanistic conspiracies force a dead religous theory of existence and purpose of living down our throats. You know, evolution. Dead religous theory, et tu?

Jehosaphat erinluvsducks Jehosaphat I was thinking we could discuss the philisophical conquest of existential, metaphysical non-being pressed against us by the oppressive humanistic overlords. In English, please? The way the governmental and humanistic conspiracies force a dead religous theory of existence and purpose of living down our throats. You know, evolution. Dead religous theory, et tu? I'm still slightly confused . . .
Are you saying that you are against the evolution theory? Because evolution is not a religious theory . . . far from it, evolution is a theory that scientists have come up with that contradicts the religious theories of our origins . . .creationism, in other words. I'm sure you know that, judging by the way you write. Also, evolution does not provide a purpose for living. again, that would be religion. Religion teaches that there is a purpose for life. A reason for living. Evolution doesn't do that. Evolution says how we got here, not what we're here for.
Please don't get mad at me if I misinterpreted what you said.

Mweh. I have something: Big Bang or God? Here's my argument-type thing.
question God existed forever and created the univerese. question A random blob of matter and energy existed forever (or did it appear out of nowhere?) and exploded to create the universe.
Either way, something had to exist forever. Which one?

I think it was made with good intentions, but then people just started spamming it . . . as for evolution . . .
I don''t believe that creationism/intelligent design/call it what you will should be taught in PUBLIC schools. Key word there is PUBLIC. It''s supposed to be a secular institution, free of all religious, etc. prejudice. teaching intelligent design would go against secularization, separation of church and state (as public schools are set up by the government) and a lack of prejudice in schools. I think that they should teach evolution as a THEORY, not as FACT, but as a THEORY. I mean, it''s frigging science class. You''re supposed to study scientific theories, etc. If you want to learn about creationism, etc, I would suggest going to church or a private religious school. I mean, what if some kid walked into a science class where they were learning about gravity. What if the kid said that they didn''t believe in gravity, but that God just created the world so objects would fall when you drop them? Would teachers have to stop teaching gravity in schools? Should they just assign the Bible as a text book? I think not.
Please don''t assume just by my opinions on evolution in public schools that I am an evolutionist. I believe in guided evolution. I think that there is too much evidence to support evolution for it not to have happened, but I don''t believe that it happened by chance. I think that some greater power (not necessarily the Christian god . . . please see my journal for my religious rants) guided our evolution. I believe that we are here for a reason; what that reason is we may never know. I believe that we are part of something bigger than what we know. I believe in extra-terrestrial life. (again, please see journal) I believe that the panspermia theory makes a lot of sense.
If you want all of my opinions on this stuff, see my journal. I really go into my beliefs there. 3nodding

All right, how about this?
Many people who are against abortion (in other words, pro-life) are for the death penalty. For example, George Bush. Bush is against abortion but for the death penalty. My question is this: How can someone be pro-life and pro-death all at the same time?
