it sounds preaty cool with the drop tuning and such. but it will be even better if it had a sustainer.

Ive been more of a gibson player, but when I had the chance to try the VG Strat, I jumped. I can safely say this is one of the only strats I'll ever touch (the other being a Fender Ritchie Blackmore Signature Strat.....wish I could get my hands on one of those......::drools::........). I really like the tunings, and the 12 string setting sounded nice. Really wish I had the money to drop on it.....but alas, Im still paying off my SG

ya my friend has one.
i don't like how heavy they are for 1. and for 2. i don't like the carlessness of craftmanship in the neck, it feels like a mexican neck to me. with that aside, you can probably find a better one than he had that has a better neck, (i would recommend a rosewood frettboard) but it's always going to weigh 20 lbs! and i love the built in effects.
i would not reccomend it though, instead might i suggest getting an "on board mod" which can be defined as a pedal effect that you install in your guitar as a knob amungst rest like the volume and tone. surprised it's pretty pricey though, mainly because of installation (dont try it yourself!)
