I wrote this poem for an English project and I wanted to see what you thought of it. My teacher gave me an "A".
Please Save We?
Please Save We?
A house sits upon a dark hill, backed by gray sky
One calls it home and one calls it hell
We see it as an asylum
They see it as home
We drown in their mental illness
And they breathe in self denial
Like old dolls we sit in despair
While they play pretend
"We're broken and must be fixed," We scream the words like a catchphrase
Used over and over
"There's nothing to fix, there's nothing broken," They reply like a broken
record
Repeating forevermore
We continue to drown in the volatile ocean of emotions They have created
And They continue to sail on in their illusion of a nice day
We are at our wits end
They are far beyond the limits
Left with sorrow are We
Because it is they, protected by apathy
Who spouts horrors that shatter souls
We can't take living in a storm of negativity anymore
This house turned asylum is not fit for the foulest
Please save We?
Now we have fallen
To the deepest of depths
They're Here too
We, who still have time to mend our souls
Young Daughters with promise
Decide to climb up and out of this place
We can still fly, our wings are not yet torn
They, those too old to move with vigor
Stay at the bottom
But, it's okay they haven't realized its the bottom yet
They've had a large dosage of Novocain
It'll be sad when they wake up from their dream
And see that we are gone
Left alone in the nightmare
No, please save them....
