Greetings fellow scientists! My name is Ulfin (It's actually William) and I am an Environmental Policy and Analysis major at Bowling Green State University. I am looking to get a job with the EPA when I graduate. My major (in a nutshell) places me in a position to work with companies and tell them what they can and can't do with their industrial waste, etc. Also, I am minoring in Geology or Paleontology.
If you haven't seen An Inconvenient Truth yet...GO RENT IT NOW!!!
Aside from the environment, I also have a profound interest in astronomy. I have taken several classes at my university in the subject including an observation-based class where I got to use the 20-inch reflector and CCD camera.
One branch of science that I absolutely hate is chemistry. I have suffered in that class (both in high school and in college), and I just don't care how many joules of energy are given off when you burn 5.00 moles of CO2.

*luffs*
Yay! I love the enviroment and enviromental sciences! I'm glad you decided to join the guild.
I just made a post about the Love Canal and solid waste in America.
Eviromental policy isn't my major though, I'm not sure what science I want to go with so I'm majoring in Multidiciplinary for now. XP Will go to graduate school and I was thinking Geology, but I've been getting more involved with Envorimental issues than anything - so I might be looking into a green career myself.
I haven't seen an inconvinient truth yet, but I will. I dont' need to see it to get modivated about global warming...been on the banwaggon since 1997..which was back in my freshman year in HS.
Yay! I'm so excited that your an enviromental major.
It's nice to meet ya, I'm Emily..but call me Catz - it's what I go by here.
Cool avi by the way.

My ultimate career goal is to get a job with the DNR (Department of Natural Resources). Unfortunately, there are only about two or three opening per year in the region I'd like to be in (Tequamenon Falls/Whitefish Point are of Michigan's Upper Penninsula).

My husband is in the Air Force. It is a good job, but we are ready to go back home to be close to our families now that we have 2 young children.
