I've heard of this before, but this article spells it out.

I suppose it could be that minority areas just so happen to be the poorest, and we all know money (or rather, the lack thereof) is a bit factor in whether or not a woman wants an abortion.
I like how they quote a letter from 1939. Sure, it was written by a founder but is it really relevent to Planned Parenthood today? I'll hazard a guess: no.

That's a good point. I'm not sure what PP's stated agenda is today, but I doubt it is deliberately racist. Sadly, that doesn't change the outcome of the abortion ratio.

It wouldn't be something I'd bring up, except they still herald the founders as having a wonderful vision.
That's part of their vision.
And when I confront anyone who loves that particular person, they go, "NUH UH!" or, "It was a different time!" My grandparents all lived in that time, my aunt lived in that time, heck, most of my family lived in that time. And none of the ones I'm close to ever harbored some dream to start eliminating other people based on their skin color.
At any rate, with so many of them being in minority areas: Plenty of wealthy women have abortions. Plenty of people will drive, sometimes hours, to get to those clinics. So why not spread the distribution? I don't know much about why they're distributed there, so maybe someone who knows that can explain it to me.
I wouldn't say abortion is a racist institution, but I will say I'm certain there are individuals who DO support it partially because it "gets rid of" some word I won't say.
