Veive tucked several books under her arm and waited for Ice to leave the room before she picked up her skirts and dashed for the door. She wasn't supposed to be going out today, Ice had wanted help with housework like cleaning, but Veive was much more interested in spending the day in that little grove she had found. Making sure that Ice hadn't seen her leave and that she wasn't being followed she breathed a sigh of relief and started out towards the woods.
Picking her way carefully through the paths she made sure to not rip her dress and attempted to keep the hemline as clean as possible, which was fairly hard to do. It was a relief when the tiny clearing came into sight, the fresh grass and broken tree to one side creating the perfect place to sit in nature and read. Walking over, she sat down and readjusted her skirts, placing the books next to her, and took the top one, settling down for an afternoon of reading.
