Rikku finally had it, the perfect ring. The saleswoman said that it would be guaranteed to fit, so now all she had to do was see Locke.
She was an adult now, hard to believe it. And he hadn't seen her yet. Well, that wouldn't be the only surprise today. She just hoped that he'd say yes.
So, she sat on a barrel in Traverse Town, she had told him to meet her there... near the secret caves where they shared their first kiss. She didn't go in, anymore, she didn't want to see the dead bodies that her little brother might've dragged under there.
No, nothing could ruin her night.

There was one thing he loved about this town: the darkness. Even on the best of nights, not many could see him on the rooftops... Of course, not many cared, either. He glanced at his watch, offering a small curse and tapping it again. Okay, so it wasn't his per say -- but he should have picked a better one than the one he had. The numbers were murky, and he didn't need to read them to know he was late.
Locke continued to make his way across the rooftops, his progress slowed only when he had to leap from one to another or if there were chimnies in his way. At last, though, he made it. Locke jumped down from the rooftop and onto a dumpster, then to the ground. "Hey, sorry I'm late," he said, walking forward, arms open for a hug. "I... Rikk'??" 'Ere he stopped, jaw open in disbelief. "I... wow, you're gorgeous!"

Rikku tossed her hair back and stuck out her tongue at the thief.
"What took ya? Were the roofs slippery tonight?" She walked forward and poked his chest, being at his height for once.
She then flicked her tongue out at him again before hugging him tightly.
"I can't believe I'm actually at your height," she grinned.

Locke laughed at she poked him, clasping her tight as soon as she entered his arms. He lifted her, managing to twirl her about before placing her back on the ground -- hopefully, she wouldn't have realized that he wasn't able to lift her as high as before.
He rested his hands on her shoulders and took a step back, marvelling at her new outfit and... height. "Like the view up here?" He joked, lifting a hand to gently brush some of the hair from her eyes.

Rikku laughed, letting her head droop before jokingly punching him in the arm.
"I'm not -that- much taller, you dumbnut," she shook her head, "Besides, soon you'll be taller than me again."
Rikku squeaked her sneakers as she did an about-face and started to walk in the other direction, pondering how to do the next action.
"But..." she looked over her shoulder to eye the young man, "That isn't why I asked you here." She pointed a finger at him and grinned before cracking her knuckles.
"I have a decent proposal for ya," the girl snickered as she hopped up on a barrel and started to balance, "You wanna hear it?"

Locke gave her a lopsided grin as he let his arms fall away, lifting them up into a shrug. "Hey now, don't let me steal your thunder and ruin your new view." He braced himself just in case she would take another playful swing at him, relaxing and becoming curious as she paced away.
And there was that grin -- she was up to something. There was... something about that grin that wasn't like the others. Edged with purpose? Perhaps. He slid a hand into his pocket and watched her, returning her grin with one of his own. "I'm all ears. Let's hear it."

"Okay!"
Rikku opened her mouth to say something else, but closed it. That didn't sound right. Okay, so she'd have to try another way to phrase it.
"Errr..."
She continued to balance on the barrel, trying to think of what to say. She looked over at the handsome treasure hunter and his sweet, mischevious grin. She rubbed her temples as she blushed, trying to hide it by a quick hop off of the barrel. She opend her mouth again but closed it, trying to find the right words.
Finally, she sat down on the stone ground and dug in her pocket for the ring box. She squeaked in joy when she found it and peered inside of it in a way that the innards were hidden from Locke.
She tilted her head and looked up at him before tossing the box his way.
"I can't think of the right words to say, so I'll let that box do the talkin'."

Oh dear, this wasn't like Rikku to hold things back like this. Locke waited, his worry overriden with curiousity. His grin grew wider at her inability to sit still -- there was the Rikku he knew and loved.
His curiousity rose when she settled down to look at... what? It was small, and obviously important. The treasure hunter's senses tingled, eager. Whatever it was, it was valuble, and worth something. But why did she call him out here, alone, to see it?
Locke snapped his hand out to catch the box, turning it this way and that. It was small, and could fit a few things: earring, ring, pearl, small stone... Curious, he lifted the lid and stared at its contents. "...I'm pretty sure you don't need me to tell you how much this is worth," he began, lifting the ring out of the box and tilting it from side to side. "I mean," he pressed on, "You and I know that you're the better of us at valuing things. But this... Aha! I knew it!" Triumphant, the thief fit the ring on his finger, offering Rikku a sly grin. "I'm right for once, right?"

"Oh Locke," Rikku looked at him, grinning, "It fits you perfectly, just like the saleslady said it would. I didn't steal it... I didn't hunt it, either."
She winked a bit, standing up. She walked over to him and smiled up at him, a slight blush adorning her cheeks as she tried to be serious.
"Locke, will you marry me?"
