I loved Final Fantasy 8 the best.
FF7 was okay but then they had to go overkill on it and started to make sequels and stuff.
FF9 looked kinda childish in the graphic department.
FFX was okay but Tidus killed it.
FFX-2 was okay too but the story line kinda sucked
FF12 I haven't beaten yet.
Shame on you. FF7 was teh best, and the sequels are great as well...best story.
FF1: Awesome. Should be remade with supernice graphics, and elaborate the story. Probably would have the best story.
FF2: hated it. Terrible leveling system.
FF3-6 all versions: Good. Very entertaining with pretty good graphics.
FF7: Already commented, but will add that the graphics were good at the time, and the characters were more realistic in personality than any of the other FF characters. Haven't really played the newer FF7 games, but I know quite a bit of the story, and still think it's good.
FF8: Hated it. Graphics bugged the crap out of me. Characters had extremely one sided personalities. The way they handled things like summons and magic was terrible. GF's pff. Only part of the game that was the least bit entertaining was the cut scenes.
FF9: Good game. Good story. A bit off from the usual.
FF10: Good graphics. Mostly good characters. English voices ruined a lot of things...such as Tidus. End was sad, but made the story so much better.
FF10-2: Never played it, but heard bad things. Might play it some day.
FF11: Extremely awesome game, but being an MMO is not comparable to other FF games.
FF12: Have not played it yet. Nice graphics though.
What? Final fantasy having a more elaborate story?
I agree more twists and turns would have made a better game.
Unfortunately you cant really elaborate much on a near endless time loop.
FF2 (Famcom and or game boy advance) Not too difficult a game much like the first. I didn't really see that the level advancement was much diffrent than the first. The story however was much better than the first. There where actually main characters that had personality's. Plus the Game boy advance version was need with the extra unlock able game at the end. I thought it was sweet to play a new story that advanced the other story line in the game. Playing as the now undead characters that where lost in the battle to save the world...well that's way cool by me.
Unfortunatly I get terribly mixed up with the series so.
Super nes 2 and 3
I own but put a very little time in the second one.
The third was interesting with the espers and all that jaz.
Wish they cid was not the leader of ..."The red wings" cring what a horrible name for air ship armada. Either it brings to mind something really grouse or a hockey team.
Out of our more recent releases I have to put my foot down and say FF7 is the best. I loved the issues that where taking on in the games story.
The religious aspect of the planate using the energy of the departed to create new life was fascinating. There was a lot to do with large corporation's and man kind destroying the very thing that brings kept them alive. Which I am sure we could all agree gives us a connection to this game. Sephorath him self did not appear to be the typical bad guy. He was more miss understood than evil really. His other worldly half-mother on the other hand well thats another story. I think what made him stand out from the A-typical bad guy was more than just the fact that he didn't just run around murdering towns and public figures. At a time he was a hero yet he soon found out he was also a sick and twisted experiment. In so he had quite a connection with our hero Cloud strife. Even beyond what had played out. Far be it for me to point out the interesting love triangle and soul searching that went on through out. Sure the game maybe difficult to understand the first time through but there is quite enjoy. Like reading your first Tolkien or Shakespeare. I think the depth of the game enhanced it beyond the others. I can't think of any other final fantasy that I have played through quite so many times. Oh and for all those that thought 7 has been over done by the movie and alike. 7 was pushed to be created and they actually had the technology to make it look like a step between 8 and 10. Unfortunately the project suffered drastically graficts and story line. They had never finished what they had written for the story. They promised that they would remake it. I am still waiting for them to make good on this.
FF 8- Meh Sure the moving collages where cool and the card game was fun for a while. Man it really gets annoying to try to collect all those dang special ability's from monsters all the time. The time shift between Squall and his father was interesting but it lead to much more sitting around and leveling up. Which sucks when your good as one group and then all of a sudden bang your a level 10 or so again. This game did do something that no other FF had done before it and that was making the final bout as tough as your characters are. It was pretty entertaining when I was maxed out and all ready to kick so butt only to find out this fact. I was sweating bullets trying to win. I give props to that.
I am going to cover FF-9 crystal chronicles, kingdom hearts all at once.
It is obnoxious to play as children. The way children solve problems just drives me up the wall. It bothers me that it bothers me to. They are kids of course they are going to be melodramatic and ridiculous. Honestly I would rather an adult character do just that. Of course I would not like the character too much but if there was any justice in the game that character would be ridiculed by his peers for being so annoying. Often adults need to grow up too. There is also the idea when playing as a child you notice they are forced into adult situations. They are forced to grow up, perhaps too soon. I think that in it's self messes up a kid. So half the time I am irritated that I have to put up with there whining and the other half is (**** ) this just isnt right. Isn't there anyone else that can deal with this stuff, let the kids play geeez.
Which reminds me of FF 10. Yes Titus is a Whiner but he dies so Im ok with that. Still don't think it is as good as FF7 but the art is a heck of a lot better.
Sweet movie scenes. Oh and the new Bahumat was horrible.
FF X 2 was a girl game through and through. I felt a sailor moon moment every time I changed to a diffrent fighting tactic. Oh man I am supposed to be kicking butt not accessorising.
FF 12. Got it last Christmas and for shame I have yet to play it.
Loved Final fantasy tactics so I am interested to see the world in which I kicked a lot of butt in. Sucks getting old and having too much responsibility.
Well that is a little bit of a rant.
Some where in there there was a final fantasy with the first job class system. I think it was found on the FF chronicals for the Ps1 if you know what I am talking about. I loved the job class system! Something about having a Black mage ninja Samuri that made things fun.
