About the Dyheli


Dyheli are a race of stag-like creatures with a talent for offensive mind-magic. Dyheli herds are led by the male with the strongest mind; and in times of crisis the leader can and will psychically control the entire herd.

They are also gifted with the ability to transfer languages from one person to another. Their gifts make them highly intelligent creatures and many of the other races they associate with consider them to be matching or greater than the humans.

Not much is known about them since aside from being on friendly terms with the Hawkbrothers they keep to themselves.

Abilities:
Language Transfer: He can tap into anyone's mind and pull their language, or one they speak, from them so that he may understand it himself. He can also transfer any language he knows to another person and/or transfer languages between two other people. He can't steal a language from someone or force them to learn it without their consent. Both parties must be willing to open their minds to others for this to work.
Herd Protection: This is basically panic control. Given a situation where a group of people are in a panic state or in sever danger he can wrap their minds up enough to make them do what he wants. This is used to keep people safe from harm or each other since panicky people aren't usually paying attention to their surroundings. He can not do this at any given time. It has to be directed toward people in a panic or otherwise frazzled mental state. If they are capable of reasoning their own safety then he can not take control of them.
Mind Twist: Offensive ability that allows him to confuse others. He can take thoughts and feelings and twist them up so that the person on the receiving end of the trick becomes disoriented for a moment. In sever cases this can cause permanent damage to someone's mind. Damage would only take place on someone with a weak mental state prior or it would take every ounce of strength that he has
Race/Species/Element: Dyheli
Information on their previous life: Unfortunately his past is not much to speak of. He did nothing special according to his own feelings or those of others and deserved no recognition for it. He lead his herd, protected them when needed, and tried to keep everyone out of the turmoil boiling between Urtho and Ma'ar.

When the power of the two great mages clashed at their deaths his herd was unable to get out of harms way in time. They had no warning other than the feel of the power coming toward them. The herd vanished completely along with anything and everything else that was caught in the backlash of power.
Personality from baby to adult: Anything but the basis is bound to be changed and tweaked as he grows and learns He is a strong willed and dependable individual. Born leader as one would say. With this he is also very cautious and weighs any and all decisions before he makes them.
Hair and eye colors: The coloration is not meant to step on any toes it is to follow how creatures looked in the books. Any creature that used Gifts of any sort, and that includes the Mind Magic that the Dyheli used, turn white haired/blue eyed after a while. It's a natural affect of the Gifts.
Eyes: will change from brown to blue
Hair: will change from light brown/tan to White (almost a snowy color)
Physical description From Wand-Adult:
Wand: Should be a very rustic 'native' looking and very simplistic. Stag skull attacked to the top.
All other stages: He should be sleek in build but strong. Muscles built for running long distances and stamina. As he grows he will develop a rack of antlers like any Stag would and they should progressively get bigger until he reaches the Youth stage. By the time he is that old the antlers will have reached their final size. From the knees down he will have deer legs so they will be furred (white fur) and he will have cloven hooves. He also has a puffy deer like tail (which is the bane of his life with pants). I haven't decided on this completely yet but he may also end up with deer ears. His coloration as he grows will gradually change from natural deer colors to solid white hair and blue eyes. This will also affect the fur on his lower legs and his tail
Distinctive Marks: Stag antlers that will grow along with him as he ages. Legs are those of a deer from the knee down.
General likes and dislikes:
Likes: Being out doors, running, taking care of others
Dislikes: Large crowd's where he's not in control, meat (eating it physically makes him sick), being cooped up indoors
Hobbies: He does large scale bead work. He makes belts, collars (of various sizes from small double strands to big ones that rest across people's shoulders) and various other things. He also takes care of an herb garden that his Guardian gave up up and loves planting things and taking care of them.

The Past


He was the leader of a Dyheli herd at the time Urtho and Ma'ar were in power. At the end of the Mage Wars the clashing of the two Mages powers at their death warped the world completely. The way magic worked and what could be done with it changed forever after their deaths.

At the time of this End of the two mages his herd received no warning of the coming storm. They were trapped in the middle of the plains and when the magic ripped the area apart the whole herd was destroyed along with it. No one has ever figured out exactly what happened to anything that was left in the area before the storm.

(I am leaving the past history vastly short on personal preference. The books give no reference to what happens to any creature caught in one of the magic upsets that were as powerful as the two Mages dying. Instead of possibly raping the poor books i am going to leave it simple and perhaps though further RP it will be developed as he remembers things.)

The Guardian


Name: Ema Rutherford
Gender: Female
Age: 33
Occupation: Apothecary (though her customers just call her place a new age herb and medicine shop)
Personality: Quite and calm. She fits in perfectly with all the flowers and plants she has around her. She's a very book learned woman so she's not all that 'street smart' and much of what people say goes right over her head. Though this does make her a very honest woman and she prefers not to hide things behind a veil of words.
History:
Hobbies: Taking care of the huge flower garden in front of her home, reading, blowing glass (she makes her own bottles and jars)

Aside from the Past and small tweaks here and there it's mostly done. Comments and Crits were welcome <3

Yes i have a habit of not making overly detailed quests for RP things. I would much rather have a basic idea that i can start with and develop the character fully as things change around them during role play
