Name: Razi (secret) Gender: Male Abilities: Lion's Gaze; Intense stare meant to keep any making direct eye contact unable to flee before the riddle was asked in the past. Razi will not make eye contact often and, when he does, it is generally brief on his side of the stare. Comprehend Languages; Self explaining, for the most part. The ability to understand most Earth languages both written and oral. Razi will only be able to completely understand languages that he might have been exposed to in his past; Greek, Latin and Egyptian. All others will just be a basic comprehension, picking up a few words here or there; enough to either make sense of a conversation... Or completly bumble a translation. Fantasy languages are not included in this; no Elven, Drow, Ignan, Celestial, etc. Race/Species/Element: Sphynx Information on their previous life: Life was. That was it. Wake Up, Riddle Me This, Destroy, Sleep. It went in a circle over and over again. For them it was fine... But for him? It really wasn't something that he found himself looking forward to. He didn't see the point in the death and destruction. Yes, some secrets were meant to be guarded. Yes, there were things that they had to protect... But couldn't they just do it with a 'No, you mustn't go there. It's forbidden'?
Of course not. That would have made sense and why, oh why, would they ever do something that made sense? They wouldn't. It wasn't in their nature. Afterall, half of the riddles asked didn't make sense and that was why they were unanswerable... Not because the mortals they asked them to were stupid (nevermind that some of the ones he'd come across truly were).
Why, just the other day he'd come across a bright young man who had, after a good long thought, come up with an answer to the riddle that he'd asked. It had been a brilliant answer, one that he never would have thought of himself... Far better than the answer he'd come up with, actually. He had given the young man permission to pass, skipping out on the whole 'death' thing because, really, he saw no reason to leap to his own. The Greeks (Romans, they were all the same) were insane, afterall. It was such a pity that their influence was started to spread through Egypt...
It was more of a pity that the young man made it to the second check-point along this particular valley where there were not one but two sphynx. The first riddle, when answered, resulted in two things: the death of Sphynx A and a question asked by the young man. "Why did your companion do that when all I did was answer a riddle? The last Sphynx didn't."
His fate was sealed from that moment on.
When they showed up at his cliff he knew that he was in trouble. He greeted them with a smile that faded the moment they began stalking towards him. He edged back, hindpaws scrambling for purchase as the rock began to give way beneath him. "But... Don't you see? There's no point in this! There are so few of us left... Why should I die? What if we could learn from them? I... I don't want to die."
"Then you should have answered your riddle." They said in unison as they closed in, backing him towards the edge... Watching him fall ending in a large splash (splat?) on the wave battered rocks below. Personality from baby to adult: Basic personality from childhood through adult will remain the same, adapting slightly as RP molds it to do so. Curious, like all stereotypical felines. He will seek knowledge in any form as he ages, most likely winding up with a library of his own filled with books from floor to ceiling. Somewhat nerdy, quiet and reserved with a pile of his own secrets. Hair and eye colors: Black hair, golden felinesque eyes. Physical description From Wand-Adult: Wand: Egyptian themed; blue, gold? Maybe a lapis scarab charm? Everything else is up to artist. All Other Stages: Basic body build should be composed of a male human and a lion; anthroesque lion from the knees down with the torso, head and upper arms of a human. His arms should be furry and lion-like from the elbow down ending in paw-like hands. Lion's tail, of course. Beyond that, I would like to leave the rest up to the artist and RP development before making any sort of demands on what his appearance must look like. Distinctive Marks: Heavily outlined eyes ala-Egyptian style, not Jack Sparrow. Other than that, I believe his body form would be distinctive enough. General likes and dislikes: Likes: Books. Intelligent conversation. Classical music. Libraries. Dislikes: Heights. Large bodies of water. Ignorance. Pointless riddles. Hobbies: Reading. Singing (Mostly by himself... Not really big on performing). Trivia related board games.

The Guardian
Name: Dorian Graves Gender: Male Age: 35 Occupation: Antique book dealer and part time librarian. Personality: The best way that I can describe the character that I'll be trying to portray in playing him is with one word: Bard. A bit of an eccentric at times, Dorian feels that he brings life to the dullness that is everyday dust covered books. He enjoys telling stories and, from time to time, he'll take liberties with them. Ravi, once old enough, will begin to pick out the flaws and, if anything, that will drive his desire for knowledge further. History: Hobbies: Traveling; what better way to find stories than by traveling the world to collect them yourself? Gardening; when home it always helps to have a little corner of exotic sunshine. Greenhouses are perfect for that. Cooking; try my latest recipe if you dare.
