i think the internet was one of the greatest inventions ever if it weren't for the net many business would have had a much harder time trying to deliver there products to the consumers. it also helps people with social anxiety disorders get out and talk to people without fear of being ridiculed

I'm one of those artifacts from the days before the internet (yes, I rode my Triceratops to school every day). smile You can live without it, but I'd sure miss it.
However, it's very unlikely that the entire internet can be taken out, because it's based on the Defense Data Network, which was literally designed to treat a nuclear war as a routing error.
