Here's an idea my hubby and I are thinking about getting into sometime in the future.....Opinions, please.
We are considering getting a busniess loan and opening up a pagan centered Bed and Breakfast. We would locate it in the rural setting on a wooded lot and construct an grove for ritual. Then cater to pagan and pagan-curious guests.
Special events would center around the holidays and rituals could be attended by guests and parties. Room themes would be a combination of natural and mythical, and you can choose from sleeping in a plant filled room or a mystical realm type decor.
question What are your thoughts? Would it work or do you think no one would come? question

I like the sound of that...
but watch out. Government officials may not like it. Also, make sure you're bank that you'll be asking the loan from will support it. They may not give the loan if they don't like the way it's used for.
If I lived near you, I'd totally come. It'd be so COOL!!!!!

You wouldn't be able to have one around where I live. >_< My aunt calls this place, "The Bible Belt." We would probably try to protest against everyone else. XD

I've considered the government's objection and I figure we would locate it somewhere close to Mansfield. They have a "resort" that is, in reality, a nudist camp. I can't imagine much more liberal than that! LOL

I totally love that idea and would stay there for sure if I lived near by. A lot of Wiccans need that kind of place to get away to. 3nodding

I think it's a great idea! But just be prepared for the hatered of some people who may walk by and think it's weird. (which it's not)

I think it's a fantastic idea. I shouldn't think you would have problems from government officials, why would you? Wicca is not against the law, and themed hotels and resorts are common. And there are hundreds of New Age weekend workshops out there, so it's not a scary new idea for people. I don't see why a bank would have issues giving a loan for such an idea. I'd just make sure to have all the research and advertising plans to show that you can get regular bookings for such an 'ahem' obscure minority.
