So, what's been on everyone's minds? I guess this is kind of like a worry/frustration vent thread. I know everyone has issues. Maybe it helps to talk. I don't know.
So, me and my husband got into it again... we both want kids, but I can't have them. We want to adopt, but can't afford it. And all around us, stupid people are having babies that they don't want or won't take care of. They have one after another, and the state takes them away as soon as they're born. I know one woman who just had her 4th baby in 5 years... the state took away the last 3, and the first one, she traded to her ex-husband's parents for a car! She actually sold her own child! Why, why can people like that keep having kids, and people who actually want them can't? Oh, it just makes me so... I don't know. Mad? Sad? It just hurts. And I feel like I'm letting my husband down, because I can't provide the one thing he truly wants.

don't feel sad. you both want one. it's not like your telling him "no,you can't have one because I said so!"
people are selfish and cruel is all I can say. It may be a hassle, but I would keep trying for an adoption until you get one. even if you don't think you can afford it.
most parents who have kids didn't plan it. they didn't have the funds for kids, but they had them anyways, and it turns out all right.

and, I don't know your personal background, but you may try seeking artificial insemination. or perhaps even try finding a surrogate mother.
there are always options my dear. you'll find a way to make things work. wink

I know, I know. I understand that he's not mad me, but just the situation in general. Our 5th anniversary is just over a week away, and I sometimes feel like nothing good has come from our marriage, save us being together. Maybe it's not meant for us to have kids. Maybe our family is just supposed to be the two of us...

don't let it get you down. you have each other and have been together a long time. that's awesome! keep on the positive side. and communication is the key. if you haven't both sat down and talked over all your options, you definitely should... maybe even open an account set aside from the rest of your funds to collect for a child will at least help, and be a step in that direction. 3nodding who knows. maybe in a year or two it'll be three of you. wink

Aww! That's awful. I'm sorry to hear that.
I never knew that you had to pay to adopt a child. Huh. Wow. I thought, since you're being a good samaritan and adopting a child, you don't need to pay at all.
Umm...other than Autumn's suggestions, why don't you get one of your friends' unwanted children and raise them? Or is that illegal? ><
