They were going for a walk. Or rather, Calen was taking Seph for a walk. He'd been reluctant to take the hike through the hallways, but the youngster had had other ideas, and once he turned on the puppy look with those baby blues, his caretaker was completely in his thrall. No way could he say no to that childish pout.

Ah, yes...he wasn't always the most firm of parental figures.

The trouble was that Calen knew it. The little fellow was intensely affectionate, something that put Sephiros off his guard, but often he'd follow that up with periods of severe grouchiness, usually when he was sulking over something he hadn't managed to wheedle out of his guardian.

However, Cal was a child, and thus he was excused.

"DADDY!" The demanding call snapped him from his thoughts, and he looked down at the diminutive figure that was doing his best to tug a leg out from under the adult.

...that was about the time he succeeded, and his hapless observer lost his balance, and fell heavily to the floor with a resounding smack, accompanied by a startled, pained sort of yelp as tailbone connected with tile.

...a yelp, a fall-- that would probably be some other new observer, here for the first time, wandering about, dragged by their wayward child. It was a valid thought, given how often (or rather, how not often) that sort of thing happened in Raven's hearing.

Poking her head out of her office, Raven blinked at the sight. A child, a guardian, and a scene. How... perfectly normal in an odd way. "Ah... are you all right?" she asked as she moved over towards Seph and Calen, shifting Imelda on her hip.

The baby stared at the the scene as well, surprised by it. She wasn't used to seeing such a thing either, and in her young life, this proved to be something strangely new. "Mama...?" she asked her mother, wondering what was going on. Usually, Raven would be explaining to her what was happening, but Raven seemed so preoccupied with the details of the scene that she was ignoring Imelda.

...that was happening more and more and should be remedied...

Sephiros glanced up at her, shamefaced and embarrassed. Of all the times for someone else to come down the hallway. "Ah, yes...I rather think I am." He replied quickly, detaching small hands from his leg, as Cal was still clinging, and now giggling softly, apparently amused by his observer's plight. "Though I rather think my rear is going to smart for a while." He sent a chiding look the way of his snickering charge, and immediately the little one clamped a hand over his mouth.

It wasn't a moment later, however, when he forgot his mirth entirely. Oh! New people! Better yet someone closer to his age than Raven or Seph. Pattering up to Imelda and her observer, he smiled faintly,
"Hullo!" Greeting child first and adult second, shifting gaze from one to the other.

The silver-haired male was still fidgeting a bit, waiting for the sting to go away. Good thing that humans tended to be padded there, otherwise he'd be in trouble.
"Cal, mind your manners." He murmured, hoping that for once the youngster would pay him heed.

...pretty strange person. But not bad. He understood that Imelda was the important one of her and her mother. That was a good distinction to make. Good of him to do. "Hi~" Imelda cooed at him, big green eyes staring up at him as a curl fell loose in front of her face. "Whass your name~?" she asked, smiling sweetly at Calen as she snuggled closer to Raven, considering whether or not to get closer to the stranger.

Moving to help Sephiros up, Raven smiled slightly. "Ah... well, at least there's no permanent damage, hm? I'm Raven, this is Imelda," she motioned to the child in her arms. "You're new around here, I suspect?" she asked, considering the pair. "I haven't seen you around here before, at least."

Not that she knew everyone, but it still seemed like... well, she didn't recognize them at all, and she tried to keep an eye on who was around as for as the observers and kids...

Now Calen was not of the age where little girls were of a particular interest to him, save to be a curiosity. And she was...she was blond like he was too, and for some reason he put that as a merit towards her potential rating of 'interesting'. "I'm Calen." Was the prompt reply, pointing a finger at his own chest. "Who're you?"

Because of thoughts known to only himself, the small boy sort of wanted to touch those golden curls, wanting to know how hair did that, as his own was unruly, but it did not swirl into little spirals as Imelda's did...and considering that Sephiros' was board-straight and could only be coaxed into doing otherwise by massive amounts of what Calen had dubbed 'gook'...it was naturally a puzzle.

Sephiros nodded quickly, accepting her help with a quick, sheepish sort of smile to demonstrate his gratitude.
"Yes...very new, I'm afraid, and I'm having to adjust my entire pace of life to keep up with shorty there..." However, the fond look in his eyes more than said that he adored the child.

"How long have you been here?" She was an Observer as well, he had noticed, which made his embarassment all the worse, to tell true, as Raven more like than not had far more experience under her belt.
