Ok, I'm planning on having a Gem element on my next egg, but problem is...I don't really know what this would entail. Digging deeper into the problem, I guess it stems from not really knowing what being an elemental entails. I had assumed that elementals were able to control their element, or sense it, or something. But I realize that I have no idea whether that's how it works, so therein lies my problem. To sum up:
1. What does being an Elemental actually allow you to do?
2. What would being a Gem Elemental actually allow you to do? And the egg will be a dragon, so she will already have an affinity for shiny things.

I was under the impression that making your Lore an elemental affects your Lore's appearance. Say, for instance, you chose paper as an elemental for your Lore, then your Lore would have like pieces of paper flying around it.
So, if your Lore was a gem elemental, then perhaps, the skin of your Lore will be crystal-like? Like, shiny, translucent skin? Just like a Gem.
Bottom line, I think your Lore will physically reflect the element you choose for it.
I don't think it affects stats for your Lore though. But I don't know. That's just my two cents on the whole thing. biggrin

Elementals do not affect stats or skills. For the most part, its looks only, though you are more than welcome to RP their elemental abilities (Make them up, you get that freedom lol)

Oh another thing, it would affect one thing in battle - like if you were say fire, obviously you'd be fireproof, lol.
HOWEVER, the bosses can STILL hurt you.

But it's no established thing for Gem, I can have artistic freedom, within limits, once I see what she looks like.
