Most hieroglyphs are read much the way our own alphabet is. Each picture or letter is read as a sound rather then as things. Think of it like this. If you wanted to use pictures to repesent the word belief, you would draw a picture of a bee and a picture of a leaf.
However there are times where this is completely ignored and the picture does infact represent what it's supposed to be..
And yet even more fun, is sometimes heiroglyhs ignore all of that and some things mean something specific despite what they say and depict.
It's a very very complicated language.

[- DB -] Midnitergrl Rosetta Stone is a language program... confused It's a language program named after the real Rosetta Stone. The stone contained the same passages written in two languages, Egyptian Hieroglyphs and Greek. It helped to decipher previously undecipherable hieroglyphs.
Oh incase you guys were wondering, Yes I do know a little Ancient Egyptian xd That is ******** amazeing heart . You should write some of that.Ancient Egyptian anything is awesome.
