Divash kingpinsqeezels Divash My Hebrew name is Dinah Chayil. What exactly is up with your username? Is it a secret? Dinah is pronounced dee-NAH or DEE-nah, not DYE-nuh. wink Divash means Honey. It's what I occasionally think I'd like to name a daughter, if I were to have one. Oooh. I get it now. Dinah! redface I do like honey...

kingpinsqeezels shtolts tiger My name, Yael, means mountain goat. Hehe. That's silly. My name has absolutely no lingual meaning, because our name probably came from the type of people my ancestors were. My name was probably change from Bearddon when we came here, and apparently means my ancestors were hairy, bearded men, who lived of or on a hill (don). Don't even ask, that's just what I heard. It's much more difficult to translate Scottish names than Hebrew names. biggrin No offense or anything. neutral Why is it silly?? Don't you know who Yael was in the Torah?

AngelofDeath22787 my name is jackie, but my hewbrew name is judith (The doctor couldnt find jackie.. so he gave me this middle name) it means:
From the Hebrew name יְהוּדִית (Yehudit) which meant "woman from Judea"... Sort of. It comes from the male name Y'hudah, which comes from 'odeh' or 'hodeh' meaning "to thank/be grateful/praise." Basically, it means "she will praise" or "she will be thankful." I think it's seriously cool, this name.

Well, my Hebrew name, Ashira, means song. My first name means either little lamb or morning dew. I've been told both. If you add it up, you get a small, loud, soggy farm animal. Lovely, no?
