If any of you mech fans have known about Transformers, then you might know about the sequal series to Beast Wars called Beast Machines. It is a show with a much darker attitude, and it is mostly based in a highly technological city. The music is a blend of reverberation, techno, and industrial. It sounds so mechanical. The biggest thing that convinces me that Beast Machines is cyberpunk is that the planet Cybertron is rulled by a cold-hearted mastermind that has a huge army of mindless drones serving his will. There are only a few survivng Maximals from the Beast Wars that will stop this megalomaniac. A few band of misfits out to stop world domination. Personally, I think it is a great show for what it sets out to do, even though it is not popular in most Transformers fans' eyes.

Behold my nerddiness!!! I am transformed!! XD

It certainly is cyber, but I wouldn't call it punk.

For those with little to no knowledge on Beast Wars or Beast Machines:
The show he's referring to is actually a sequel to the show Beast Wars (or Beasties depending on which station you watched it on) which was based on the original transformers series, except for it took place on a planet completely void of human life, and the characters took on the forms of animals instead of cars and trucks. The series ends when our heroes find a way to get off the planet and make their way back to their home world (unfortunately, they accidentally bring Megatron with them). The next series then revolves around this small band of robots attempting to reclaim their now barren (apart from some mindless drones) home world from the evil Megatron.

It has always been my opinion that one of the most important aspects of cyberpunk games, shows and literature is the examination of man's relationship with science and technology, and the inevitable negative consequences that come along with all the wonderful benefits of technology's advance. Shows like Beast Wars and Beast Machines seem to focus much more on the simple concept of good vs. evil, and really don't show any focus at all on man's (or even robot's, since there are no humans) complex relationship with all the crazy technology that surrounds them. Instead, the technology in these shows is often taken for granted and used, without consequence, as nothing more than common tools, to help the two sides battle it out against each other.

I'm suprised you haven't said anything in my BMFM thread, then... in that "kids show" thre advancement of technology has destroyed one planet'scivilization and natural resourses already, and the heroes only ended up cyberized because the villians had previously captured, tortured, and experimented on them... plus it has more edge, more punkish attitude, and better music.
