Lucius gave an equine shrug and turned his gaze in the general direction of the Ice Mountains. "I've been in the foothills, gone a little way up the slops but worsening weather and hunger turned me back before I got very far. I can't tell you very much of them I fear; you would have to ask those who live at their feet for more information. It is said to be a stronghold for Reya and for souls who do not feel at home in softer climes or with other folk."
He remembered one stallion from his youth when he had first investigated the area. The pale Reya stallion had persuaded him not to try the slippery slopes then for it had been autumn and, as the blue eyed creature had pointed out, he Lucius had been rather young for it. The red skeleton that now fitted him like his skin had been loose still and the skull had slipped about something terrible.
Lucius gave his head a toss to clear his curly mane from his eyes before turning the orange orbs back onto his Jala companion. "The forests in that area are to be watched," he informed the other stallion. "They paint falsities before the eyes; illusions and dreams half formed, half thought. Many a Nequus has become lost among those boughs only to starve to death and leave their bones behind as testament to their failure. Keep your guard and your mind if you seeks to explore the forests; they can be as deadly as the mountains if not more. At least the cold slopes attack only the body."
Though he had never really tried to penetrate the depths of the forests Lucius knew of their reputation for either leading Nequus into their depths never to return or for expelling them changed, mad, afraid. Still, Aitumn was a sensible enough sort and tough from what he'd seen; he'd probably be alright.

With a deep interest in what the bone-clad Aeri had to say, Aitumn kept his gaze and his ears focused. Though it seemed, unfortunatly, such a feat as seeing these splendid mountains would take more skill then he had at first thought. Perhaps a bit of training first would do him go, despite his years of travel Aitumn still figured he had some room to give more.
Oh... oh drat. Had Lucius just spoke of chilling weather? That alone was enough to get a shutter from his taunt hide. Aitumn so hated the cold with a passion that overlapped his need to wander; for the most part. "Everything comes with a price I guess, though its too bad this one had to be, well, the cold weather", he spoke, his feathered wings shifting upon his back had they done during the winter season. It was no secret that the blood bay stallion much perfered the warm season over the cold, but he didn't think it was enough to stop him from trying to reach the peaks.
"I'll remember the dangers of the forests though, and hopefully my journey will not end in my demise", yes, it seemed training would be in order for a trip like this. Not till after the business in D'ob though, he had to get that taken care of as well. Suddenlyit seemed like there was so much to be done, when the blood bay had hardly ever had anything on his plate before. What an odd way this world of theirs worked in.

Lucius chuckled and shook his head slightly. "Cold is scarcely even the right word from what I recall. Survivable at this time of year but highly unpleasant and there is very little to eat as you get higher up; just lichens and such. It would be useful to be able to carry extra food but... hum, yes, preparation would definitely be key to a serious attempt at getting any real distance up those slopes." better to stop speaking before he started rambling off with abstract ideas and half baked plans to get onto the ice giants' shoulders.
"In any case I must be off," the red maned stallion said giving himself a shake and letting a deep woof of air out of his lungs. "I have to rendezvous with a friend of mine soon and I'm some way from our meeting point." He didn't want to be late for meeting Lydia; he felt bad about being away from her so much on his hunt for Vox but it was unavoidable.
"It was good to see you again Aitumn," Lucius added with a slight smile. "I wish you fortune with this Zaknafein character, and with your journeys. I look foreward to seeing you again some day; perhaps you could tell me the tales you have heard and concocted about the sea and the mountains if you venture to them." Perhaps he would show the lands near Casa Tiner to Lydia at some point; the Bae mare might appreciate their stark, awesome beauty. He certainly hoped she would.

"Understandable", the blood bay spoke with a bob of his sleek head. Perhaps he had kept the bone-clad stallion for too long in his company, but either way the conversation had been nice; and its not everyday that Aitumn enjoyed speaking with others at such a comfortable tone. You see, speach had never really been his thing, nor the need for speach, though he was not mute nor ill-taught in the subject. The stallion gave a mental shrug to his own thoughts, it was good enough to have seen Lucius again, with the slim chance of it happening on account of his wanderings.
Though with what caught his attention next Aitumn gave an enthusiastic flare of his nostrils. "Certainly, I will be sure to have many fathoms of fantasy and myth at my disposal by then", which of course he did not doubt. Matter of fact he quite a few up to date at the moment, though none really seemed to stick just yet. Hmm, he needed to find that personalized story, just for him, that planted itself into his mind like none other. Much searching, he figured, would bring him this gift of remembrance.
As it was thought the Jala gave small flip of his mane, dull eyes cast in the direction of the sea. "I suppose I've kept ya for long enough, friend. Safe wanderings." With a small skirt of his fiesty hooves out of the larger Nequus' way, Aitumn was surprised at how smoothly the sand traveled with his movement. This was going to be an interesting stay, however short it was, for sure.

The red-maned stallion bobbed his massive head and smiled at the other Nequus. "I look forward to our next meeting then." Stories had always fascinated him; the things that a clever mind could concoct and a clever speaker could conjure for an audience. He had yet to meet somebody who would outright say that he was too old for stories but that, Lucius felt, was probably because he was so effective at scaring people witless when they got on his nerves.
Chuckling softly to himself the tall Aeri gave himself another shake and flexed the muscles in his legs. It was good to be big and scary looking sometimes and always good to be healthy. "Good fortune with your weaving friend and safe wanderings; farewell for the present!"
With these words, the bone-clad stallion sprang away along the beach, his long legs flinging the sand away behind him. Wind whipped at his curling mane and tail and, as he gathered speed, Lucius laughed for the simple joy of life.

(( xd I think that wraps it up.))
Aitumn gave a final snort of good-bye as he watched the bone-clad stallion make his leave. Which completely left the blood bay up to his own doings, and at this point it consisted of a ruthless sprint from his dancing hooves over to the ocean's edge. Heck, he discovered just how difficult it was to actually get one's pace set in the sand, but there was so much to discover, so much to see, and so many stories to come up with! This was going to be an interesting stay indeed.
