 "If that truly is the case, then I shall try and worry no longer about what I may or may not owe you." Gently he let his fingers slide through her long, silky hair, his hesitant smile giving way to a more thoughtful expression as he experimentally wrapped one of the strands around his index finger. Had he braided Her hair back then, he wondered, because - obviously - the knowledge was there. It was strange what kind of things one would remember, while other, much more important memories remained stubbornly buried and inaccessible.
"I will leave tomorrow, as soon as the sun rises," he told her a little later, shifting to a more formal tone again and letting go of the goddess' hair with a twinge of regret. But.. this was not the time for it. Later perhaps, when he would have certainty of his Other's fate. "I do not know how long I will be gone this time, or how far I will need to go.. Priya will accompany me, as my scout and my guard. Ishum I ordered to stay behind, I left him with a number of tasks to take care of. Should there be urgent need to find me.. he has the means to do so." The aoide had tracked him down once, and with the Cerberus at his disposal Nergal had no doubt he'd manage to do so a second time.

 "I see." She said, softly, trying not to show any changes in her face when he withdrew his hand from her hairs. Did this moment really need to end... ?
"He is welcome to stay here, if needed" The goddess continued, doing nothing to stop him, or to try to get him to stay longer... even if, deep inside, she wished it would still be possible.
"But..." She hesitated, hand going to comb trough a strand of hair, almost nervously. "Please be careful. I do not wish to see you injured again..." She remembered when she had seen him, at the pantheon... and how worried she had been.

"That is an offer most welcome." Nergal nodded, his expression sincere. Inwardly, however, he wondered slightly amused how long it would take for Ishum to swamp Echo's dwelling with kittens and the like to show his gratitude for the lodging she offered so kindly. Not too long, he guessed, as he knew his aoide was rather enthusiastic about such things.
Reluctantly he got up, starting to miss the warm touch of her skin against his almost immediately. But this small moment of tenderness was all he could allow himself to happen without feeling like he was betraying himself.. and Her.
"Do not worry about me. Priya is a fierce warrior and very proficient in the use of her weapons.. She may be a little ill-mannered, but she would rather die than allow me to come to harm." He bent forward to brush his lips against her skin once more, a chaste kiss on her forehead - a blessing rather than a sign of affection.
"There are still a few things I need to take care of before I leave," he said regretfully, "but I trust you will see me off tomorrow?"

She got up shortly after he had done the same, scooping up Vertigo again as she did so. The feline, oblivious of the seriousness of the situation that had just unfolded (and that he might soon have feline neighbors) started his purring again almost immediately.
"I shall." She answered softly.((Sounds like a warp to me))
