Saki felt her heart swirl in a pit of despair. She knew this man spoke the truth, and why her uncle had sent her to him. Her excellence at one of the top universities in the world, her vast nowledge from memorizing tons of books. All past experience and rationality persuaded her to do the only logical thing anyone would do.
scream.
She screamed until there was no more air in her lungs. Until a fire consumed them and she could not breath. Then her scream turned gutteral, a sound not human, or demon, but somewhere in between.

Reverting once more to his human form, Cole floated over to Saki and pulled her too him so that her head rested just about his shoulder once he reached her and held her. He knew this must be hard to take in all at once... but it had to been done. A demon... even a half demon needs to be taught control over their powers, lest they become a target for the hunters of the Celetial Realm. Cole gently stroked Saki's hair...
"I know this is hard to accept Saki, but you must know the truth. Your uncle sent you to me so that you could recieve training and learn to control your darker blood. Take hope though, for within these walls are others just like you and I. Demons who have forsaken their dark heritage and are trying to live in the light... even the Demon King Gabriel resides within my home."
Cole went silent for a few moments and merely continued to hold Saki, wishing to whatever deity may be present that she shouldn't have been given this curse... the curse of Demon's Blood...

Takara sat there, her sightless blue eyes staring into the distance on the lake's shore. Her long black hair was tied back in a braid that was gently tossed about by the cool breeze. She should have been inside the library doing research, but the beautiful day had led her outside. Her long staff lay in the grass by her side, her right hand instinctively resting upon the well-worn wood. She sighed, wondering where her current path would lead her. Staying at the Pagoda was wonderful, peaceful, calm, there had been no troubles whatsoever, except of course, those that lay inside her mind.

Something stirred the peacefulness of the air and she turned her head towards the source: the gate. There was a presence there, a dark firey presence that spoke of suffering and pain. What could be the cause of such a feeling? Grasping her staff tightly, she rose to her feet, supple leather boots stepping lightly up the bank towards the gate. A second commotion made itself known to her overhead: two presences so close their auras were almost interwined in her magical sight, however, the intent she sensed didn't seem to be as malicious as the first. She began heading towards the gate, her movements graceful yet unhurried. She doubted the presence was going anywhere.

Saki looked up at cole, tears streaming down her face. "But I dont want to be a demon," she cried. "How could he... how could Uncle Raven not tell me..." She cried harder. " Why? Of all things to be....." she let her voice trail off, and closed her eyes against Cole's chest.

Cole held Saki to his chest, letting her cry... no one wants to be a demon, he knew this. He also knew that a demon, even a half-demon, needs to learn control or they will become the target for almost every hunter out there. Cole gently stroked Saki's hair, trying to comfort her...
"I know Saki, it hurts... Even I myself do not wish to be demon, but we can not change the cards fate has dealt us. However... you, unlike most demons, have a chance and a choice. You are among the people who can teach you of what you are and help you control your demon nature and still be a person with a good heart and soul. Your Uncle did not want to tell you for he knew how much it would hurt you, and I don't think he would've been able to stand seeing you crying... I myself do you not like seeing you cry."
Cole continued to stroke Saki's hair; he placed a gently kiss on the top of Saki's head then rested his head atop hers and sighed...
"Oh, my poor, young Saki... this world is rarely kind, yet you can rise above it all if you only allow those who wish to help you in your heart."
Cole gently put Saki at arms length, keeping his hands on her shoulders, he looked into her eyes. A soft smile on his lips...
"Will you allow me to help you Saki?"

saki remained silent for a moment. She drew in a deep breath and sighed. "Yes," she said finally, a small smile on her lips. "I'd like that very much, Cole."

Cole smiled and held Saki close to him once more. Though she may not want what has been given to her, and few rarely do, she was in good hands. Cole would teach her everything she needed to know about hpw to control her powers... but that would have to wait...
"I'm glad to hear that Saki, for now, you must rest. Sleep and when you awake, I'll make you something to eat and then we'll start your training."
He smiled at her and his eyes reflected the age that was within his soul. Knowlege and wisdom were within those eyes. Yet, they would have to keep their secrets until Saki had rested...

Saki yawned and rubbed her eyes... "Yes, I think that's a good idea. I do feel a bit... overwhelmed..." She looked up at him once more, eyes clouded with slight doubt, "You... you can really teach me to control this monster inside of me?"

Cole gently stroked Saki's hair again as he smiled at her again, he nodded his head.
"Of course Saki, I've lived over 2000 years with my own demon blood. I'll show you the path of light that is shrouded in our own darkness. For now, to the rooms so that you can rest."
Cole held onto Saki as he thought of one of the many rooms inside of the pagoda... with the blink of an eye, the two were gone fromt he lakeside...
