Wasn't the movie supposed to take place during the actual Shippuuden timeline? Now that I think about it, I don't think the anime will even BE at the Asuma part by then. They'll have to get through a LOOOOT of stuff to get there by August. Remember how long the Sasori fight lasts? eek I assume they'd only be around the 4-tail fight with Orochimaru by then, if that. Maybe the movie involves Naru going 4-tail?
There's too much riding on Naru right now. He's been an inspirational character for people for a long time, his death would be a really BAD MOVE.
They would never come right out and announce a character death (and the main one, at that stare ) openly like that before the movie even comes out. From how choppy the trailer was, I'm assuming it was to raise interest and make people want to find out what really happens. I hate it when people do that.
But... it worked didn't it? gonk

Watashi wa Hyuuga Hinata desu... I seriously don't think Naruto dies...It'd be pretty weird for him to die ,when in the manga which is canon law, he hasn't died. Also, the movies are like one giant filler anyways...I'm not too worried.
Ano...Naruto-kun...

I wrote an essay! Not really. But I've been annoyingly posting it everywhere. Seriously, if you've seen this before, don't bother reading it again. But to me the trailer makes about as much sense as my fat cat, so I had to rant about it. Chibi Naru-chan I started a topic about this somewhere. I think it was the Narutard guild. XD But, it seems that no one thinks Naruto dies. Frankly, it just doesn't make any sense. Here's my two cents.
That trailer was really choppy. And it wasn't very dramatic, either. It looked like Naruto was barely even in the one-tail stage, and if his life was in THAT great of danger, don't you think Kyuubi would have emerged more? Especially since he was fighting. Also, why would they just announce something like that openly? That spoils the entire movie. The Naruto staff has been known to pull stuff like this in the past (there was an episode titled 'Naruto Dies'), and it causes suspicion so more people will watch the movie. It makes it more popular.
Killing off a character the series is NAMED for pretty much kills the series. It would also leave too much hanging, because Naruto has a lot going for him right now (Hinata or any other pairing, his dream to be hokage, saving Sasuke, finding out who his family was/is, etc.).
Another HUGE factor is that the movie is supposed to take place during the timeline. By August (when the movie is released), they'll barely even be to SAI yet in the anime series. There are lots of fights that will no doubt last a number of episodes, like the Sasori fight. Naruto can't be killed in the movie if he's still alive and kicking in the anime episodes and manga chapters.
Here's my prediction of that trailer. Naruto runs into those men at some point and tries to fight them for whatever reason. They hit him with the chakra, knock him out, and he has a dream sequence (or something like that ) of what would happen if he died. This possibly gets him to wake up (maybe it's Sakura's scream that does), maybe even go crazy Kyuubi and kick some bad guy arse.
Not to mention, Naruto dying just by getting punched like that would be really anticlimactic; after all he's trained for and how long it took. It would be really disappointing if he didn't acheive his dream, since he is supposed to be a very inspirational character (it's a shounen manga rofl ). This would really devastate a lot of people (including me).
Also keep in mind, when the episode titled 'Naruto Dies' was released, it was meant to be sort of symbollic for Naruto's spirit. Sasuke left, therefore a part of him sort of "died". This could be true for the movie as well.
So, yeah. That trailer was way too misleading. Too choppy, didn't make any sense, etc. Congrats if anyone read all that. You get a cookie.

Now thats what I've been screamin'!
People are looking at this 30 second trailor as if it is the end of Naruto. The character and the series. No. I have a few reasons to why Masashi Kishimoto would never DREAM of doing such a thing.
One, Naruto Shippuuden. Why in the world would they wait SO long to come out with the series, make all the adoring anime fans wait so long for Shippuuden to come out, and then kill him off in the fourth movie. Kishimoto bases his anime off of Dragon Ball Z and that lasted a lot more then a few hundred episodes. It doesnt make much sense and to be honest I think that everyone is over analyzing this. I mean, I do that sometimes, but with this you have to be logical. And people are just assuming.
Two, The character. Everyone and their grandmother has been joking that the show should be called Sasuke. Haha, no. But if they kill off the main character; Naruto. That really will leave the show to be called Sasuke. Or Dr. Phil Naruto style. Because every other character in there needs to talk to someone, Seriously. I really and honestly dont think that anyone on the Naruto Staff would do that. I think it myth that Naruto is going to die at the end. If Kishimoto would do that, he knows that he would kill some little kids dreams out there. And the show is all about acheiving dreams. And Naruto's to become the greatest hokage ever, and if he was to die in this movie that would take away from the whole theme of the movie.
Three, I find it a matter of like I said, over analyzing a situation: Sakura sitting at a grave screaming for Naruto could be the exact fact that Naruto is gone on a mission; missing of some sort, and she is at someone's grave someone that died. Naruto is one of the strongest ninjas out there, so why wouldnt she be upset and scream for Naruto. I bet you everything, she is screaming because she doesnt know where he is and they need them.
So there is the well awaited thoughts of Trusty, not really but yea.

Exactly. All of our theories make more sense than that trailer does. XD Actually, I haven't seen anyone make too big a deal about the trailer yet. I figure everyone else who's seen it is probably thinking 'WTF? neutral ' But, yeah. I think Naru's gonna live on. We shouldn't be worried. He still has to get Hinata and become the Hokage. twisted

I agree with the 3 above me. Naru CAN NOT die! He still has to become Hokage for poop's sake! I think Kishimoto only did that to scare the Narutards, to cause contreversy, and to get everyone to watch it! I just don't know...my heart was pounding like CRAZY when I first saw it. I started screaming, hitting, ranting, and everything! dramallama
I don't think Kishimoto would really do it, it would crush a lot of hearts!
