Despite the lack of blues I've seen in the forum I thought I'd ask anyway. Does anyone know of any good slide guitar artists?

Roy Rogers is an excellent slide guitarist; his album "Slideways" is pretty good, even though I'm not really into that kind of music so much.

Ry Cooder has a lot of good slide music in a lot of his songs, but I don't think he plays it, just one of the folks in his band.

Other than myself...no, I'm just kidding. I guess not really. A lot of older blues was played with a slide, but the recordings are really bad. I'll have to go searching. I'll get back to you though with something interesting. Go to the library at a local college and try and get some CDs. So often I catch myself and my drunken friends playing with beer bottles and I'm convinced that is how slide guitar started even though I have no idea.
