Originally, this was going to be a simple poll about whether the people here preferred the old or new BSG soundtrack, but then I realized that the new BSG has changed its sound so greatly and so often that I really couldn't do it that way. So, I went by soundtrack albums instead. ^__^
My own opinion? Well... as much as I adore the experimentation and breadth of Bear McCreary's work- and his Celtic pieces, such as "Wander My Friends" and "Roslin and Adama" in particular- I just don't think that anything can beat that classic BSG theme. smile

I can vaguely remember the classic theme myself. ^^ And I remember that one night you let me hear some of the newer themes. 3nodding

Those were from the season 2 soundtrack. smile It should still be floating around stores.
Said album also features "Colonial Anthem", which is a collaboration between McCreary and classic series composer Stu Phillips to present a new take on the classic BSG theme. smile

I've only seen the original a few times so I don't remember the music. I do like the music in the new ones though.

I don't know what it's called, but I like the song that's played with the Galactica and Pegasus crew meet up for the first time. It's rather haunting. And, like you, Kiri, I like the Celtic songs. I own the first soundtrack, but none of the others.

What did y'all think of that weird Hindu-ish remix of [NAME REMOVED TO AVOID SPOILERS] in the third season finale? That was just bizarre, pulled out of the arse, and totally frakked up... I loved it. razz
