It seems that teenagers these days are just getting into trouble. I mean look at the woes against us:
Teen alcoholics, cutting, drug abuse, drunk driving accidents, school dropouts, bullying, suicides, speeding accidents, rape, teen pregnancy, teen STIs/STDs, vandalism, shoplifting, and now another school shooting in Virginia...
What is my generation coming to?
There are so many missionaries going out to all of these countries in Africa, and Asia helping out the teenagers there, but...
What about the teenagers here? Who's helping them out.
Yes, I am angry...very angry at what the people in my generation have committing against themselves and society in certain areas...
I mean we are the leaders of tomorrow, and I beginning to see that tomorrow doesn't look good...
What should we, as Christians teenagers do? I'm not so sure university is the safest building to step into...

My theory is that it has a lot to do with the parents combined with peer pressure.
Many parents are a product of the "hippie" era. Some of those parents never developed good morals to pass down to their children, and so many teens think that this free love and usage of drugs is what they are supposed to do with their free time.
Even with the kids with decent parents get caught up in this culture because of peer pressure. "If Billy does it because his dad does, then its ok if I do it". From what I understand, his has been going on for quite a while; actually, its not just your generation.
In fact similar things have gone on through out history. The thing you have remember is that everyone is born into sin because of the fact that we have the knowledge of good and evil. The thing that makes evil what it is, is the fact that it always causes pain. What makes it deceiving, seeming good, is the fact that a lot of times it feels good, at first. The pain comes when the consequences catch up with the actions. The world(that is void of Christ) is evil, and we are not to become part of it, but we must live in the world so that we may save others from their fate. As long as we continue to work on ourselves and help those we can we'll know we are doing our part.

But, why are there like so few people seeming to reach out to the people around my age? All they seem to care about is the people in Africa or Asia... Who's supposed to go out to my generation before more men and women pull out a gun and show up at school and basically open fire? I don't even think I'm comfortable walking into my school without feeling like I'm not just involved in spiritual warfare, but in total and physical warefare! Sigh, as you can see these shootings are just more hard on me than anything!

It is perfectly normal to be a little scared with all of these going ons going on. I think you need to know that not all teens are going in these ways. I agree that a lot of trouble is the parents. But not all parents are bad. I would encourage you to talk to someone you trust about your fears don't hold it in.

Actually there are a lot of organizations geared toward youth, but the thing is you have to look for them, and some of the kids that need them don't want to go. It is one of those things that if you wanted to control the situation, you would have to deny those kids their rights, and that is not going to happen anytime soon. The problem is that there are a lot of rules and regulations when dealing with schools and you would have to go through tons of hoops in order to establish anything. The best that can be done now is if people on the inside of schools invite kids to encouraging organizations, as well as students inviting other students. It is not as easy as sending someone to a 3rd world country were there are less laws and regulations on doing that kind of stuff, all that requires is money and people. If you want to get involved I would suggest looking into all the laws and regulations on it, and find out what organizations are in your area. Once you do that you can come up with the best solution yourself. Its a tough situation, but I think your right, something needs to be done.
