I honestly really don't care if someone likes or dislikes Kairi. xD Seriously. I think she's cute and I really like her in the second game a lot, but if someone doesn't, that's their right. This whole topic was not meant to be about Kairi, not really. I was trying to focus more on the people who hate a character so much that they'll go to extreme lengths just to get you to hate them. People have their own opinions but you can't force them on someone else, it's just not right.
Though, it is nice to hear LEGIT reasons why people dislike a character instead of "she does nothing!" or "her clothes make her look like a slut!"

I don't know why people put so much effort into entierly despising a character. The characters arn't in real life, they don't affect how you live or anything [basically] about you so why care? x] Personally I like all the characters. Except for a few evil ones x]

Kairi is annoying. She seems to have the same problem as Sakura from Naruto. Likes the "OMG I'm awesome" guy, but is really in love with the main character, who wants to get the girl, so tries to be like the "OMG I'm awesome" guy. This is why I like yaoi. xp

( Yeah I'm a lesbian and I like girls, and I also like yaoi, go figure ) I just don't see anything wrong with Kairi having a crush on a boy she knew since she was little.
But your Naruto reference made absolutely no sense to me seeing as I don't watch it, and never will. x:

Ziizi in the first KH game, i really did like Kairi. i think i liked her so much because she was a female character, and i was rooting for her all the way, haha. but then, in Kingdom Hearts 2, my feelings for her faded. not only was she m.i.a. for the majority of the game, but when she finally did appear, and fight, i was just not impressed--at all. point being, i really have no major issue with her. sure, she was a bit annoying nearing the end of KH2, and she fought like a pansy, but ultimately, i'm cool with her. in KH3, if Square Enix chooses to continue with Sora, Riku, and Kairi as characters, i'm actually really looking forward to seeing the other sides of her. i want her to be just as interesting and dynamic as all the other characters 3nodding oki? yes, end of spiel, haha.
and if they do choose to keep up with Sora, Riku and Kairi, Squeenix better develop her character a lot like Sora's and Riku's.
The i-hate-kairi issue could also be comprable to Roxas. people have issues with Roxas because of Jesse McCartney. Yeah, i dont like his music all that much, but he's cute, he did a great job of voicing Roxas and, in my humblest opinion, i think he looks like Roxas. Just my opinion, though.

ha, yeah, and for the longest time, i didn't even KNOW who was doing the voice-over for Roxas. i mean, i'm DEFINITELY not a fan of his, but whatever. i agree, he did a really good job. i'll say that much.

I just don't like her nobody all that much. I think Kairi's okay. But I guess I'm just jealous of Namine because she has Roxas... Other than that, I don't really like nor do I hate Kairi. She's an okay character. But why does she have to be prettier than me? WHY??? WHY???!!! crying

Someone did something horribly similar to me.
I was talking to a friend after we both read some of the Loveless manga series,and she said "I think Soubi's a ***** kind of creepy,just walking up on Ritsuka like that." And well,I was like "I don't think he's a ***** knew his older brother and was entrusted to take care of Ritsuka.There's nothing wrong with that." And then she started ranting about how Soubi had kissed Ritsuka and how he seemed to be hitting on Ritsuka who was much younger than him.I just think sometimes people need to keep their opinions to themselves.Nobody cares what they negatively think about the character.
But aside from that,I really do like Kairi.I especially like her role in KH2.Even though I personally wanted to see more of her older personality,I think just showing her mostly near the end was fine.She's a cute character and has a well thought out role in the game.I don't see what's wrong with her.
