Thread Roleplay #8, Part 2

Quicksilver the Archangel
[Ooo~ Lights! *discodances* XD <3

And Brier totally = naughty list. XD; Poor Hart, on the other hand, deserves to be on the good list for life for not losing his cool. ... I think Sekani could probably chose his own destiny. XD;

And... out of my crew, I say Delmor's the only one who gets out on the nice list. XD Sorena's never been nice, and Krishna's been a poopy head of late. ]

"Sorena, it's really very kind of you to be helping me!" Delmor said in the kitchen, knee deep in the pantry trying to find Hart some cider. Of course, he wouldn't have been knee deep in assorted things if Sorena had told him the correct place to look.

However, when it had been so easy to find the vodka, it had become necessary to distract the Aquatic long enough for the silver Yuniko to carry out his own plans. Dutifully pouring the two shots of the clear liquid for Brier, Sorena double-checked to make sure that Delmor was suitably distracted before taking the still open vodka bottle and adding a generous enough portion to his water. It wasn't enough to make him flat drunk, he guessed... but would probably make him a bit tipsy. "Which, is all that's required honestly. Delmor's already so... friendly."

"Sorena, I think I found it!"

Casting an amethyst eye over, the dark yuniko nodded. "Good, good. That makes the last thing to go. We've already gotten Sekani's pudding and your water. If you will pour for Hart, I will put up the vodka."

Delmor was more than willing to do so, humming lightly as he reached for the glass. He found it odd, though, that Sorena's memory was already so bad. He had said to look in the far left corner of the pantry for the cider- when it had been on the floor, right next to his hooves the whole time. Strange, strange. "I only hope that it doesn't get worse as time goes on."

Placing the cup of cider onto the tray, he picked it up himself and walked back to where the others were gathering. Sorena followed close behind, smirking to see they were walking back in on an arguement. Delmor, on the other hand, was not so pleased, giving a small, concerned expression that was something like the look of a kicked puppy. "Are you and Hart-chan fighting, Brier?"

Krishna was becoming exasperated, and finally it got to the point where he ripped the instructions out of the rune-covered Yuniko's hands, "Just... give it to me, or we'll never get this done!"

Then, a few moments later, as he was connecting a few wires, he suddenly said, albeit much softer, and with the utmost sincerity. "I'm sorry, Sekani. That was uncalled for."

Aqua Drageen
((Krishna's such a MEANIE. gonk *giggle* He gets to be on the frumpy list.))

"We're not fighting~ Are we, Taur?" Brier waved off the question absently with a smile.

"Of... of course not Delmor," Hart added in. "Just some light hearted... observations." No need to upset the little aquatic, really -- wait, with Brier, perhaps there was.

Sekani's pout (formed there as soon as the instructions were ripped away) evaporated quickly when the kirin yuniko apologized. Those fix everything! ... Just about. There were a few times where he had to clean it up, too.

"That's okay," he smiled over Krishna's shoulder, watching him at work. "As long as it gets done right, heh." The thought hit him that at one time, this may have infuriated him. They once fought almost non-stop -- every conversation leading to some sort of jab. Things were certainly better now.

But why? Sekani shooed further thoughts away and concentrated on watching.

Quicksilver the Archangel
[... there's a frumpy list? XD <3]

Delmor instantly smiled, relieved to see things were going better. "Good... good. We got everything you wanted. I'm sorry it took so long."

"We had a... bit of trouble finding the cider," Sorena chuckled, moving to take the two shots of vodka from the tray, handing them to Brier. "Vodka for you." Then, taking up the larger mug, he handed it to Hart. "Cider for the stag." Finally, he took the tray out of Delmor's hands, dismissing the protest he saw in his eyes. "You have water to drink - I can hold Sekani's pudding until he returns."

"Th-thank you," the Aquatic replied, and he meant it. His mouth and throat felt terribly dry, and it was a relief to lift the glass to his lips. However... one sip later, he looked down into the water, frown lighting his face. "The water... tastes funny..."

"It should be done correctly..." Here Krishna paused, lowering his voice, and trying something that was a big step for him. He wasn't quite sure if it was correct but... Sekani DID call him 'Krishkrish'... right? "Place a little trust in me... Kaka."

Aqua Drageen
(( ... ROFL rofl ))

Brier downed one of the shots quickly, jumpstarting his brain on the alcohol. Hn... a nice warmth, it was. The other would be used to sip at through the rest of the party. Hart merely tasted his, to make sure it was still good to its make. No need to drown the vocal cords yet.

Sekani chuckled before it set in. "Of course I trust you with-- Wait, what did you say?" he asked, eyes slightly wide. Maybe his rainbow friend had been momentarily eletrocuted.

Quicksilver the Archangel
[*bows*]

Sorena smiled, happy to see things going well.

Delmor, on the other hand, hesitantly brought the glass of water to his lips again, forcing himself to take another swallow before lowering it again. No... it still tasted terrible. Seeing Brier finish off his first drink, he took a step forward, stretching out his hand. "If you're done with that glass, I can take it back to the kitchen."

Almost immediatly Krishna turned his head, hating the blush that rose to his cheeks. He was foolish to have tried such a thing, foolish. "I just thought that it was appropriate. Since you call me Krishkrish... but, I will stop. I don't have to have a special name for you."

Aqua Drageen
Hart noticed the look on Delmor's face this time -- wasn't he parched? He expected the aquatic to down the glass as fast as his apparently alcoholic "friend" did.

Ah! What an opportunity for the dark yuniko -- the full attention of the little one! He had to make good use of this.

"There's no need to trouble yourself. I don't want you to miss some of the party," he said, leaning his head on his hand and absently fiddling with the nightshade Hart had given him. ...Maybe that was it. He plucked the flower from behind his ear, feigning a great interest. "Say, does your friend make a lot of these? It's a lovely -- Ooops!" Brier let the flower slip from his hands and flutter to the ground. "How clumsey of me. Could you get that, Delmor? You're so... much closer to the ground."

Sekani sighed with relief at the explaination and knelt next to Krishna.

"A special name is fine! Just not one that means 'poop.' I... I thought you were angry at me," a grin tinted with a bit of nervousness crossed his face. He didn't particularly want things to be like they were then, even if he wasn't sure what they were now. "How about... Se-chan? That's nice."

Quicksilver the Archangel
"Oh, not a problem," the Aquatic assured the taller Yuniko, smile deepening. "Just hold my water for a second?"

Placing the glass into the other's hand, Delmor bent down and picked up the flower, holding it between his fingers. " I need to go back to the kitchen, anyway. For some reason... the water doesn't taste quite right."

Sorena raised an eyebrow, feigning concern, "How dreadful, for your flower to fall on the floor, Brier. I do hope all is well."

Poop? Well, it made sense to know why he was so upset, although the Kirin Yuniko quickly amended the accident. "You remind me of many things, Sekani, but not... poop." Golden eyes turned to the other Yuniko, and Krishna gave a small, gentle smile, one that was not usual for him. "I thought you'd know by now when I was truly angry at you... Se-chan." Then, he gave a small stretch. "However, I believe the machine is ready to be used."

Aqua Drageen
((*horribly curious and wants to know seekret* crying ))

Brier couldn't help a wide and toothy grin as Delmor bent down to retrieve the flower. "'Closer to the ground?' Oh man! Too easy." Trying to quickly wipe the look from his face as Delmor rose, he turned his face to Sorena to answer, buying himself a bit more time. "All is VERY well, my friend." The striped yuinko then held out the glass for the smaller to reclaim.

Sekani felt a little bit of himself go all warm and tingly -- not like when you find out your leg is asleep, or that picante ramen REALLY WAS HOT, but something more fluffy. Sekani wondered for a worried moment if he was getting sick just before the party, when Krishna's annoucement perked him up again!

"Waaii~! I'll go tell the others!" the dust-blue yuniko said excitedly, hopping up from his kneeling position.

Quicksilver the Archangel
[... j00r ACTUALLY A WOMAN! *dundunDUN!*]

"Thank you," Delmor said softly, taking his glass back and depositing the flower into the larger yuniko's hand in return, fingers briefly brushing the other's palm. Looking at the drink, as if to take another sip, he suddenly lowered the glass again.

The silver Yuniko only smiled, swishing his tail so that the twin rings made a sort of clink. "Good. May the night continue to become better, then. For all of us."

Krishna nodded, rising and waiting for the others to return. It was time to go back to the self that Sekani seemed even more ill at ease around. "Around Sorena... I can show no more weakness. And that new fellow... only makes things worse."

Aqua Drageen
((Not Syrie, toooo~ T^T *still has headache from Prox*))

Brier felt a shiver as their two hands met -- albeit breifly -- and had to use his other hand to try and cover the returning grin. He blaimed the lack of control on the alcohol. Damnit.

Hart raised an eyebrow at Delmor's odd reaction to the water. Hadn't he been parched? He wanted to somehow blaim it on Brier, but couldn't find a connecting point. There was Sorena... which was enough. The taur decided he had to get a taste/sniff of whatever was in that glass. His deliberate concentration was foiled, however, when his bubbly "onii-chan" skipped into the middle of everything.

"The machine's all set up! We can staaart~" The only pause in Sekani's demeanor came from the few moments that it took him to find his pudding snack.

[So sorry for my extended absence. x-x Mom kept me up at an internetless place longer than I expected.

And congrats, Sy. XD <3]

"Ah, wonderful," Sorena replied, a small smile of his own rising at Sekani's attack of the pudding. "Then we should go." He took a step back, to where he could see the others. He wanted to be the last to leave - that way there was no chance of anyone accidentally walking into his sensitive back spines.

"Yeah! I'm excited," Delmor giggled, feeling good with the friendly way everything seemed to be going. "Let's go and see Krishna! Then we'll have to decide who sings the first song."

Quicksilver the Archangel
User Image "I found the blanket you wanted, Krishna."

"Good. I'm getting tired of having to hold this thing."

Delmor smiled softly at Krishna's grumbling, handing the rainbow colored Yuniko the felt blanket. It had been like this for the past couple of days, ever since Quick had showed up with a strange blue egg. She couldn't take care of it herself, not with so many other members of the family depending on her, and Delmor had earnestly volunteered to watch over it. It was so exciting, waiting to see when it would hatch!

It had been no surprise to the Aquatic Yuniko to see how fiercly protective Krishna had become... and then how quickly he took over. Oh, it wasn't that apparent to anyone else, maybe. But Delmor had known Krishna a long time. It was all the little things. Like the way he had had a talk with Sorena and the Kurai Yuniko had simply... disappeared for a while on a private trip. Or the way that he complained that watching over an egg was beneath him... after he had been doing it for several hours. Or even the way he kept reminding Delmor of how much responsability caring for an unborn life was, and how it needed far too much time and attention WHILE he was performing the tasks.

Once the kirin Yuniko had carefully wrapped the egg up, he placed it in the basket that had become a sort of makeshift bed and carrier. It had been Delmor's idea, and he was rather proud of it. After all, if it worked for Easter eggs, surely it would work for this egg, right?

"I hope you don't intend to make this babysitting thing a habit, Delmor. It'll only mean even more work once he hatches," Krishna huffed, all the while making sure the basket was level and didn't swing. "You don't think Quick will ask for us to keep him permanently, do you?'

"She might, if she thinks he'll be happier here. We'll just have to wait and see."

Aqua Drageen
User Image Humming lightly, the rune-inscribed yuniko frolicked along the fields in his own way -- which was really a random combination of running, stopping to inspect nature, and scurrying recoveries from the occasional stumble when he wasn't paying close enough attention. The sun was warm and the grass as soft as feathers, but a carefree romp was not the main purpose of this outing, though it was a nice addition. Sekani was out to find out about this new egg that Krishna's guardian had acquired. He had heard of it through the grapevine... well, Aqua to be precise, but he thought it to be adequate detective work.

A few yards from his target, Sekani's smile widened as he threw an arm into the air for a mighty wave and called out a greeting.

"Krishnaaa~ Delmoooor~ HALLOO~!"

Quicksilver the Archangel
Delmor was more than happy to see one of his friends, and he returned the wave with an enthusiastic one of his own. "The little egg is all taken care of, and Sekani's come for a visit! I don't think this day can get any better!"

Krishna, on the other hand, grew slightly uneasy when he saw the approaching Yuniko. As much as the kirin loved Sekani, he simply wasn't sure if the carefree song-and-dance Yuniko could be trusted around something so... breakable. Still... it was always nice when he got a chance to see and spend time with the other. It didn't seem to happen nearly enough, for his tastes.

Aqua Drageen
Sekani hopped to a stop, panting a bit after sprinting the last leg.

"I heard there was a new addition," he stated, catching a glance towards the basket. "An... egg?" he asked, unsure. He had only overheard Aqua speaking about this new addition and it all seemed odd. Where did it come from? Is it more like a bird egg or one of those creme filled easter kinds?

Quicksilver the Archangel
"Glad to see that your eyesight is still as good as ever," Krishna replied with a small smile, turning his eyes away from Sekani and over to Delmor. "My arms are beginning to get tired. Hold the basket."

"Of course!" The Aquatic agreed readily, glad to have the opportunity to hold the little one again. He flashed a bright smile over to the rune-covered Sekani, his tail moving just a little in his excitement. "Yes, and it's oh so adoreable. Krishna and I have been taking care of him."

"And an awful lot of work and trouble it's been too," the rainbow Yuniko added. "Now, apparently, he's a visitable attraction - perhaps we should sell tickets." Then, after a short pause, "But... it is good to see you.. Se-chan."

Aqua Drageen
Sekani paused at the use of the nickname, but quickly recovered his poise with a chuckle. He was really glad things were smoothing over with his friend Krishna, even if some of the awkwardness would creep in at times.

"Hart will probably be by later -- and Aqua's forbidden Brier, for some reason." His eyes wandered down again to the basket in Delmor's arms. "Sooo~... WHICH ONE OF YOU IS THE LUCKY DADDY?" he finally blurted out, looking eagerly from the aquatic to the kirin.

Quicksilver the Archangel
The sudden question left both of the other Yuniko speechless. Then Krishna couldn't help but laugh. "Neither of us! We didn't -lay- the egg. Neither of us are birds."

Timidly, Delmor added on, "Quick is the one that gave us the egg to look after, Seka-chan. I don't really know where she got it from."

Aqua Drageen
"Oh... I see."

The answer wasn't quite what Sekani was expecting. Though, as he gave it a few moments thought, it was likely for the better: one daddy meant there was another daddy and THAT meant he had probably missed out on something important.

"It's still a cute little egg! I bet Quick is proud," he said, flashing a wide grin at Delmor. "Could I hold it?"

Quicksilver the Archangel
Krishna immediately grew tense at Sekani's question, his eyes becoming focused on the basket. Here was the part he had been dreading. He knew it was wrong, but all he could see in his mind's eye was the excitable rune-covered Yuniko trying to dance with the basket, sending the egg flying to an inevitable doom. Common sense and a mind centered around safety were simply not things Sekani had displayed abundantly in the past.

Thus, when Delmor prepared to transfer ownership of the basket, he stepped forward, "I'll help you hold it, Se-chan; it can get very heavy."

Aqua Drageen
Sekani nodded, too wrapped up in his own excitement to question Krishna's stipulations. Perhaps the point would come up later, but for now, he was going to get to interact with this new, interesting little thing. Besides, the rainbow yuniko tended to get grumpy when he asked too many questions.

"Okay, okay, sure," he said quickly, scampering close to the egg.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Krishna firmly held one side of the basket, but he did bring it closer so that Sekani could see it all the better. "I have no idea when it will hatch; Quick didn't have much to say on the subject either. It's really a terrible bore to watch, since it doesn't do much... but the color's quite nice. Hopefully whatever comes out will be cute."

Even as he spoke, though, he used a free hand to fuss at the blanket that Delmor had earlier provided, making sure that the egg had enough covering to protect it from the cold, and his golden eyes seemed fixed on the navy blue bundle that had suddenly become such a large part of his life.

The water Yuniko could not help but give a small smile at the sight of the other two, the sign of affection deepening as he thought about the rainbow Yuniko's words. "Oh, I'm sure whatever is in there will be just adoreable!"

Aqua Drageen
"Adorable..." Sekani repeated softly, his eyes focused on the little bundle. Aqua had creatures scurrying about all of the time, but rarely were they so young. Even Oliver had to be a certain age by the time he was allowed away from his native cave. This wasn't just something interesting... it was a little life and a bit of nature's own magic.

"It's not so boring, Krishna! Just imagine all of the things it could be doing in there. Maybe what it's thinking. Do you think it can it hear us?"

Something could definitely hear them, though it was not the intended party. A stealthy shift came from the bushes, seeing an opening at last...

Quicksilver the Archangel
"Considering there are no holes in the shell or ears to recieve the sounds, I doubt he can hear us," Krishna scoffed, though it was more gentle then he had been before. "Perhaps it can feel the vibration, though. I imagine in normal incubation, with the mother so close... it could feel something. Aside from the warmth, obviously."

Overly affectionate Delmor could not resist being seperated from the basket any longer, and he reached out a silver and blue arm to take it. "Let me hold it now, Krishna. Just for a little while."

The Kirin Yuniko did not think twice about the request, gently dislodging whatever grip Sekani may have had on the basket and holding it out to the aquatic Yuniko. "Of course. Be careful."

Aqua Drageen
Sekani gave a little pout as the egg's basket was plucked from his grasp. He had only begun to inspect it! Krishna mentioned vibrations... perhaps tapping could be used to "talk" with it or, better yet, they always say that music is the international language.

However, before any protest could be made, a brown blur sprang forth from some nearby shrubbery. Sekani was about to ask who or what this blur was and why it had never blurred by before, when he noted that it was darting towards -- no, scratch that, AT -- the bundled egg!

The egg transfer had proved too good an opportunity to pass up.

By Why's the Egg Gone?, Part 2

Quicksilver the Archangel
Delmor saw that same streak of brown coming out of the corner of his eye, and his first instinct was to take the basket holding the egg more firmly into his grasp and pull it close to his chest. The second instinct, probably happening at about the same time as the first, was to give a cry of alarm.

Krishna, on the other hand, found that his own response was momentarily delayed by an inner struggle. Part of him wanted to dart towards the egg, protect it and hold it close to keep it from harm, while the other (and perhaps more pressing part, if he would only admit it to himself) told him to dash towards a more precious being of navy, one with teasing black markings and golden horn and pull him into safety.

Unable to choose between the two, he did the only thing that he could do: he ran forward to meet the brown intruder head on.

Aqua Drageen
The brown blur skidded to a halt in front of Krishna, finding that he was moving too fast to do much else (without tumbling off into oblivion, of course).

Damn, now they had his face! Though, probably not his name. He hadn't been to the area very long, and had kept himself secluded in that period. Furthermore, he had been told his name was absolutely impossible to remember: Sir Basingstoke Eliza Richard Solmon of the Forthright Southern Gent. The last bit was actually the name of the ship that meant very much to him.

Most just called him Stoke. A few tried Eliza, but weren't successful.

If Stoke was any type, he was a yuniko of action. Without a word of acknowledgement, he lept into a tuck-roll -- hopefully past this rainbow barrier and onto the prize.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Krishna made a quick catalouge of the face that stood before him; he noted one large scar near an eye and orange hair covered by what looked to be a green bandanna, but his observations ended whenever the brown being suddenly leapt back into action. It was not a move he had been expecting, and it momentarily took him off guard. The pause only lasted a few moments, but even that could be too long a wait in such a situation, which he knew only too well. Feeling slightly angry at himself for falling for such a trick, he spun around with the intention of pursuing the antagonist.

Delmor could see the brown stranger heading his way, and he began to glance to the side. He didn't want to run when he held such a tiny, fragile responsability in his hands... but if it seemed the only way to escape the situation, then he would take it.

Aqua Drageen
Stoke let himself smirk at the sight of the aquatic, pleased to see him questioning a way out. He had deduced that this one would not be a fighter, but some yuniko were full of surprises.

One being Sekani, apparently. He had discredited this marked yuniko due to distance -- but Krishna's stalling and Sekani's dancer's legs proved enough to offset his estimate. Stoke didn't long find himself out of the tumble before he gained a weight on his back, gripping him at the neck.

Sekani was the type to give just about everyone a chance, but this fellow obviously didn't know the correct way to ask to see an egg.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Delmor winced whenever he saw his friend strike against the other Yuniko, but rather then waste the time he had been given, he used the opportunity to put further distance between himself and the attacker while he could move in relative safety.

Krishna could feel his scaled skin become chilled at the sight of the rune-covered Yuniko holding down the brown stranger. Sekani was quick and lithe, possessing that strength that only dancer's could hold, but one thing that the kirin was certain of was that whoever this opponent was... he had more experience in fights then the other did. He ran towards the pair, all sarcasm and sharpness gone from his voice as he called out a simple warning, "Sekani... be careful!"

Aqua Drageen
Stoke heard the rainbow yuniko calling, and likely closing in the short distance left between them. Just to add more aggrivation to the mix, the target was scampering away!

The pirate went through some options in swift order -- slamming the other onto the ground would be a good option if there wasn't an impending backup on the way and his assailent's legs were flailing around too wildly to attempt a flip.

Well then, he'd just have to hope some bits of anatomy lined up as he hoped. Stoke swiftly brought both arms forward and back again, elbows bent, successfully knocking most of the wind out of his blue-colored cling-on. Sekani's eyes went wide and he couldn't help but lose his grip, crumbling to the grass.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Delmor could only stare in horror as his friend crumpled onto the ground, too surprised to even attempt to take a step towards the injured Yuniko. The Aquatic abhorred violence, however, and he could feel tears rise to his eyes and fall just as quickly. Why was this all happening?

Krishna's reaction was quite a bit different. The rainbow Yuniko watched as Sekani fell, but there came from him not a tear. Instead, his hands curled into fists. This stranger had gone after the egg. This stranger had hurt Sekani. Vengeance was the only option now. Throwing all of his strength behind one of those fists as he neared the strange Yuniko, he could find only one thing to say. "YOU SON OF A b***h!"

Aqua Drageen
Sekani gave a few heaving coughs after settling on his knees with a light "thump", his lungs greatful for the oxygen, though still protesting their abuse. He wasn't any worse for wear overall and he actually felt kinda bad for being shaken off like that, but a lack of vital gases does that. His hearing being unharmed, he did catch quite the angry shout coming from his rainbow friend...

To his great alarm, so did Stoke! He was getting so painfully close to his target, yet he could not ignore the rage that boomed even closer. While speed was his advantage, all of the road blocks had taken that edge away. Knowing his own limits, Stoke made a sliding stop, curling himself inward and down to the ground to better avoid whatever Krishna may have been preparing.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Due to the ducking manuever of the strange Yuniko, Krishna's fists hit nothing but empty air, which undoubtably made him look quite silly, but in his rage the rainbow Yuniko for once didn't care about his appearence. Without even a thought he drove one of his hooves in to deliver a kick to his opponent, his golden eyes narrowed.

Delmor squeezed his eyes shut, his grip on the basket tightening at the same time. He didn't want to watch - he didn't want to see anybody else get hurt. What on earth were they fighting over, anyway? If the new Yuniko had wanted to see the egg, all he had to do was ask. There was no reason that the silvery-blue Aquatic could think of to explain any of this.

His green eyes popped open, however, whenever he felt a tremor coming through his hands, and he peeked over to see the little navy egg shaking somewhat. No, it couldn't be... the egg COULDN'T have decided that -now- was the best time to hatch?!

Aqua Drageen
OH SHI--

Stoke couldn't prepare for the second assault, but he was at least greatful his body was prepared for the blow. He was sent flying a foot or so to land on his back, but was able to quickly roll to his feet again. Staying down would hold a worse fate than to keep going. Holding a hard breath, he used the force of the tumble and stop to spring him back towards the kirin. This time, his own fist was poised to connect.

Quicksilver the Archangel
While the rainbow Yuniko may have been many things, warrior he was not. Krishna had no time to defend himself from the blow, registering the pain of a hard fist connecting squarely with his cheek as he fell to the earth.

He managed to catch himself with his hands, preventing a possible head injury, but his surprise and anger still made themselves known through a serpentine hiss coming through his tightly clenched teeth.

Apparently the egg -had- decided that it was the perfect time to hatch, and Delmor was caught somewhere between panic and wonder as he watched a flit of motion poking through the navy shell, patiently chipping away until all in a tumble rolled out a tiny, dragon-like creature.

He was the same rich blue color as the shell, primarily, but the Aquatic stared at the shock of teal fur that formed the infant's tail, feeling even more tears drip down his face now as a set of jewel-green eyes looked up at him. 'It's... so beautiful...'

Then the baby threw his head back and he screamed.

Aqua Drageen
Stoke's face held a grin, now very pleased with himself and the situation. The kirin could be felled! And he appeared to not be much of a fighter... but Stoke was in no position to pass judgement. He preferred to save those decisions for when the target was tied up and incopasitated. He moved to deliver another blow, but quite the unexpected sound pierced his floppy ears. His eyes turned towards the source with a bit of aggrivation, though careful to keep Krishna not a blink away.

Sekani, just getting back on his feet, was forced to cover his large ears in the surprise assault. His purple eyes turned to Delmor in question, fearing the unknown.

Aqua Drageen
As soon as the noise stopped, Sekani rushed to Krishna's side -- his ears were still ringing quite a bit, but he had already been useless enough. If the screaming started up again, he hoped it would be less agonizing the second time around. (Aqua would pummel him if she knew how much he didn't want giant floppy ears just then.) He knelt next to his friend, unsure of what to do now that everything had paused.

"-Him-? What did you do to the sapphire, water type?!" Stoke tossed brazenly at Delmor, his voice holding a hiss towards everything. He took a careful step or two away from the duo.

By Why's the Egg Gone?, Part 3

Quicksilver the Archangel
Krishna turned his gold eyes briefly towards the rune-covered Yuniko, but then turned them away again. It was embarassing enough to be beaten and useless... without knowing that one of the few people who had an opinion that mattered was so near. He finally regained his footing unassisted, giving his friend only a brief whisper, "I'm fine, Sekani." Then, in an even lower tone, "But please, lay low. I don't want to see you hurt again."

With that he growled towards the retreating pirate, brushing the back of his hand over his still-throbbing cheek. Sapphire? What on earth was he blabbering about? "Leave Delmor alone. He hasn't done anything wrong."

Delmor's eyes widened at the harsh tone in the brown Yuniko's voice, taking a step back himself in response to his movement. He wasn't quite sure why the egg was being referred to as a sapphire, but his mouth felt terribly dry as he managed to stammer out, "I... I didn't do anything. He... he just... he needed to hatch. He must've incubated... l-long enough. I'm... I'm sorry..."

The dragon tilted his head at the Yuniko's distress and gave a tiny squeak before licking a strangely salty cheek in an attempt to comfort. Why was the warmth trembling so?

Sekani did as he was told, for once.

He was far too worried in this situation to bring up a huffy arguement, telling Krishna just how able he was to take care of himself, thank you very much. It suddenly struck him, with that thought, that this was probably the longest expanse he had gone without talking while conscious. That solidified his resolution that this was a very particular situation indeed.

Stoke took a few more steps backwards when the kirin rose. Pride was rather nice to have, but not at the expense of your health, after all. He captured the small dragon's movements in quick glances. Then... he let out quite a groan.

"It's a dragon!" The next line was a mixture of words no decent yuniko should hear. "I'm going to skin that informant alive."

Quicksilver the Archangel
"Informant?" The anger began to reappear again as the rainbow Yuniko put two and two together. "You caused all of this trouble just to try and rob us? You injured Sekani, made Delmor cry, probably sent my charge into pre-mature hatching... because you heard some rumor and wanted to make some quick gold? What kind of half-brained moron are you?!"

"K-krishna! Calm down... please." Delmor pleaded, his tail long since grown still with only slight twitchings of mental distress. For all he knew, this stranger was serious when he talked of skinning other people alive. "We... we don't want things to get any worse."

Stoke's eye twitched a bit at Krishna's accusation.

"I'm a pirate... gypsy... Look, I was just told, okay? It's the way I make a living. I don't like it when it gets messy, but sometimes it happens." He gave a shrug. The objective was unsalvageable as he didn't deal in live things and now he's likely to have some long-time distrust on his hands. And it was never good to burn bridges unnecessarily. "Oh well, then. Congratulations," Stoke said, almost like casual conversation, while removed his handkerchief to ruffle his hair against the open air.

Sekani stood up and tugged at Krishna's arm, talking in hushed tones.

"Krishna... is this guy a little crazy or something? Should we just leave or kick him or something?"

Quicksilver the Archangel
The Kirin merely shook his head, the disgust in his golden eyes as plain as the scales near his face. A thief trying to justify his actions was still just that - a thief. The grasp on his arm demanded his immediate attention, and he softened his gaze at Sekani's question. "Perhaps leaving would be best. There is no need to be mixed up with such a ruffian. I am sorry, though, that all of this happened during your visit."

He purposefully ignored the fact that said ruffian was only a short distance away and quite able to hear his statements.

Delmor stopped crying, possibly more relieved then he should have been now that the physical fighting was over and the tiny dragon cradled in his arms would not be taken away. He looked first at his conversing friends and then back to the pirate, and he suggested in a soft tone, "Perhaps... you can find a better way to live. One that doesn't involve hurting and scaring people."

The dragon became increasingly puzzled at the events happening around him, focusing his gaze on the other three bundles of potential pampering near him. Two seemed to be busy - but one of them had just thrown a colorful toy into the air! His wings flapped excitedly as he squirmed against his current resting place.

"C-calm down, little one!"

What was left of the worry in Sekani's form melted away at the gentle, reaffirming gaze. Over the time they've known each other, the smaller yuniko had found a sense of security. He knew just the way Krishna's brow would furrow if he was really serious and, more recently, how it would shift if he wasn't really angry. It made him a little nervous to think about very long - after what Krishna had told him - but luckily he was the sort not to think on things very long anyway. Still, something was continuously nagging in the back of his mind...

But this was not the time for such things. It was time to get away from this crazy yuniko. Sekani nodded, smiled a bit, and looped his arms around the one he had been tugging. His eyes turned Delmor, wanting to make sure his aquatic friend and the new dragon-let made it out safely as well.

Stoke was keeping his eye on the little dragon. While no longer a precious stone, and still quite small, he had been on the delivering end of a few dragons.

"Y'can save your pretty words. This way works for me," he said, tying the bandanna down again. "We may never cross paths again anyway. Just keep that little thing tied down, will you?" With a smirk and one eye over his shoulder, Stoke stepped away from the group cautiously.

Quicksilver the Archangel
Krishna relaxed, glad to see the situation under control. No one was going to be hurt anymore, not with the pirate retreating, Delmor seemed to be geting along with the little dragon... and, he had to admit, the cool touch of Sekani's lithe arms around his own made him glad that the event had happened in the first place. After all, this was probably as much as he would ever get; even if it meant nothing to Sekani, the obvious trust that the dancer had around him meant everything to the Kirin.

Delmor suceeded in quieting down the dragon in his arms with a few rocking motions, keeping quiet after hearing the brown Yuniko's words. He would never understand why one would want to hurt others... but obviously there was no help for this one, and at least he wasn't going to try and hurt either him or his friends anymore.

The Aquatic walked over to Sekani's other side, giving a smile at both of the other other Yuniko to show that he too was ready to go.

The little dragon gave a tiny pout at the loss of the colorful toy... but then something else came up to make him give a happy kyuu! Leaping out of his current snugglie bed, he landed onto a soft bed of rainbow hair and began to paw.

"Delmor, would you get him off, please?"

"AS soon as I can, Krishna... as soon as I can."
