This is honestly inspired by Naomi's post in the Wicca thread concerning playing with magic. What's your take, whether you beleive it's real, right, wrong, or simply things done through drugs. I am extremly sceptical on the existents of true magic and find all to be simple illusions induced by either drugs or dreams. I find that you can't play with actual magic since I see it as non-existing, but in a since play with magic as in trying to play god. I don't find magic shows a sign of evil acourse, but find those who are hoping to find real magic in what they do. That's what I think the bible means on magic, since witchcraft could have been pratice since the discovery of drugs, and the belief that you can do it is what's the sin.
But what do you think. Do you think one person has the power to actual curse another? Or that someone can really contact the dead?
Though I may be toying with powers beyond my comprehension (Sarcasm) I do find myself provoking those on the internet who claim have the abilities to place curses, and it scares my mom. Yet hear I am, alive and kicking. I do beleive that if it was real that God would have allowed me to be cursed to set me straight.

real or not, why would God want to set you straight about that. I can not aaumse that he would or would not want to. but their are no limits to God's plans.
I think real magic exists. however, there are so many forces in this world that they have little power and effect. satan and his demons have millions of toys (drugs, mediums, television) out there. yet we have family and churches who are always praying for us, angels that are always blocking blows for us. The battle is constant but few mortals get the chance to practice real magic. thanks God.

Everybody knows my views . . . so I dont even think i should raise a riot at this point. When it comes to Magic (spiritual energy) I think the Teacher to N00b ration. is slightly out of my favor, lol. I think I just let everyone think their right today. xd Sorry, rather tired and cynical today xp

In my opinion, magic mos def isn't of God. It's kinda clear to me about all that stuff, since it says in the Bible that witchcraft is bad XD And I trust what the Bible says, since it's Gods word.
Is it just a big trick? I think so. When I was in Guatemala on a missions trip, I've heard many stories from the Guatemalians about how they were tricked. One of them said that he WAS a witch doctor, and magic isn't what it's made out to be. If he put a curse on someone that they wouldn't be financially well, he would make sure it wouldn't happen. He'd make sure no one would hire the person, and that the person would have their things stolen.
When he would make someone ill, he would simply put dangerous spices into their food.
Is witchcraft real? I think not. Witchcraft is the power that Satan gives you - the knowledge of how to use herbs to harm people. The knowlege of how to hurt people, and do it well.
But with God, we can do ANYTHING. With faith we can move mountains. Our God can make us strong in our weakest moments, and He can make anything possible. So who has the real power?

Witchcraft? Yes, I believe it to be real. I'm talking about supernatural stuff too. I won't get into the specifics though. Put simply, it is power that comes from Satan, which isn't impressive in the least, and definately can't harm the church (true body of believers) ,but definately has the capacity to support one's stance in other religions such as the church of satan. And you know that Satan wants you to believe anything but God. Boo witchcraft, Yay God!

The mind is a very powerful thing... magic is the use of the power of the mind in an attempt to go around/above God. It's wrong.
If you're performing miracles, like healing, as a gift given by God, and truly giving the credit back to God, then that's for God, and therefore good.

Magic is real, yet not real. The Devil gives people power in order to decieve them and keep people away from God. Also demons come to people and accuartley pertend to be the dead person they want to talk to. So magical powers and such are real, just not in the way most people think.

I don't see any problem with magic power being used, as long as it is given by God. (Peter, Paul, Elisha used this kind of power) I do, however, see problems with power being used in conjunction with idolatry, or being used for evil purposes, though I will not condem it as there is always the possibility I am wrong.
