I once joined this roleplay. The other roleplayers wanted to learn a bit about me, so I sort of gave them a small bio about myself. I didn't say my age in it, though. Then they decided to just guess.
Their guesses were in the twenties.
And later on, they always joked that I was thirty.

there are two kinds of preteens. 1. the kind that are so immature you'd think a 2 year old could be more serious. 2. the kind where they're so beyond their years you have to do a doulbe take when they tell you their real age.
