I have been staying with my mother lately, and both of my sisters apparently had strep. (Just ound out about this yesterday after being here TWO WEEKS.) The only reason I found out about them having strep and not just a sore throat is I mentioned to my mother that my throat was hurting.
Because of the sickness in the house, should I call my doctor (and for the matter, should I call my OB or regular doc?), and is there any kind of throat losange that I can have?
Thanks. heart

If your throat is hurting and you've been exposed, call your doctor. They can do the throat swab culture and prescribe antibiotics. Which you can call either doctor, which ever you feel more comfortable, although I would go with the OB personally.
Also, I wouldn't take any medications without an ok. Ask your OB for an "Ok" (meaning they aren't without risks, but generally low risk medications) list of medications. Some you can take in certain trimesters, some you have to avoid in certain trimesters. Definitely call them first. One OB may tell one woman one thing with different circumstances.
Here's a good site that goes into the classifications of medication and risks for pregnant/BFing: www.safefetus.com
