Eyes widening slightly in shock at Siff's rapid attack, it darts back just in time to avoid being gutted. It snarls as it spares a glance at the bleeding cut running down its chest, then returnes its gaze to Siff. "Die." With that, it raises its un-injured arm, gathering the strange mist. With a flick if it's pale wrist, the fog forms itself into a large shapeless monster standing between Valesti and Siff.
Sending one last worried glance at Siff, Ahnema turns and flees towards the hole leading to the surface. As she is just at the edge, she turns back and calls to Siff. "We are weak from our long sleep, he cannot do battle for much longer in this condition!"
Her words appear to be true, as sweat pours down Valesti's forehead and its breathing is laboured. Its eyes narrow with the effort of keeping its monster solidified, but despite that it occasionally flickers back onto smog.

Siff skidded past the dodging form of Valesti, and though he had not gotten him in the way he had wanted, he'd gotten him and he came to a halt, turning just in time to watch as the monster forms. A few steps backwards, holding the sword in his right hand as it solidifies, turning his head somewhat to look at Ahnema when she speaks. He nods, looking back to see that what she has said is indeed true.
He scowls, narrowing his flaming eyes as left hand points out with a flattened palm, more of those shadows again taking shape to become a monster of their own.
The monster howls loudly as it takes shape, the black creature turning into a sort of snake like shape as it rises up above the other beast, its own likes that of its master's, glowing bright red.
"Attack!"
Another howl before it dove down to smash head first into Valesti's own creation, to try and throw it across the room.

As Siff's monster collides with it's own, Valesti clenches its teeth and drops to one knee wth the effort of keeping its creature solid. As its creature looses a great roar and swings a large clawed appendage at the snake-like form, it glances over at the hole just in time to see Ahnema dissappear. Its eyes widen in rage as it seethes over the chance lost, not noticing that its lapse in concentration is costing its creature to lose form quickly.

Siff's monster releases a loud yowling cry as the claw rips through its body, and in a strange turn of events, it explodes, though without the actual explosion. The shadow snake merely bursts, sending a large sonic boom of sorts through the shrine, causing the ground and walls to tremble as it vanished into nothing.
It was the chance that Siff needed as he saw Valesti fall and the monster begin to lose its solid state. He ran forward, diving under the monster to slide across the ground and throw a foot upwards to slam it into Valesti's face, kicking him back against the wall. He flips forward, landing on his feet as another round of shadows rise up from the walls and Siff knew no hesitation now as he willed them forward to smash into the other deity just as it hits the wall, throwing it down into the ground.
"I'll kill you myself!" He was quickly making his way towards his opponent. "After all you've done... you stole her from me!"

Valesti slowly climbs to its feet, breathing heavily and bleeding profusely from several gashes. The mist that made up his monster mere moments ago again gathered around him, swirling slowly. "You... will pay... for... your insolence..." Its eyes snap closed and the mist thickens, hiding it from view within the swirling cloud. Its voice echoes eerily in the cavern, seeming to come from everywhere. "I shall... return the... favour... in kind. Spend... your last... days wisely... Shadow..." The thick mist thins out and vanishes, and Valesti is gone.

Siff came to a halt as the mist gathers around Valesti, thickening and he heard the voice echoing, snarling loudly as he realizes the beast had fled. "COWARD!" he shouts into the air, turning this way and that in search of him. "COME AND FIGHT ME!" His voice echoed inside the chasm but to no avail.
The angry shadows surrounding him settled, the sword vanishing from his grasp and like he had departed from the tree, he sunk into the shadows, rising up from the earth behind Ahnema. He was silent, and who knew exactly why. After all, he hadn't seen her in centuries. What could he say?
"Ahnema."

Hearing Siff's voice behind her, Ahnema spins quickly to face him. She looks immencely relieved that he's alive, and takes a step towards him. "Oh Siff..." Her words die in her throat, and all she can find herself able to do is stare up into his ruby eyes.

His brows furrowed, obviously looking rather confused in those eyes, torn between something. "Come with me." He extends a hand out to take one of hers and when she would, he pulls her against him. "We need to go." Free arm wraps around her, holding her as both of them sink down into the shadows to vanish.
(To the tree~)
