Well his brother's had taken it well enough. Peru seemed... pleased with the job. And Loki had made a competition out of it. Normal-ish. Well for them, exactly what he'd expect. "They're so easy to predict." A quiet mumble as he led the child beside him along through the plants to enjoy the slightly humid environment it provided. The particular room he'd chosen was designed for the more tropical plants, so if anything it had perked up the child.

Leilani wasn't ever much of a down, but obviously the subtle hints on her face had been easy to read. It had mainly been caused by the overcast clouds outside of her window that morning and run further as she heard the sounds of rain thumping on the windows. She wasn't against it really, it just didn't bring cheer as the sun did. So she'd given it a mute sigh and forced on a fake smile as she went about her day, wanting to be a ray of light for the rest of the family if the sun couldn't be. Obviously though, a fake ray wasn't enough for her father of sorts. For within an hour of arriving, which meant it was still fairly early, she'd been drug off to somewhere much warmer.

The area's air was thick with what tasted like water. Almost as if it had rained just moments before. It was a newer sensation and a pleasant one to say the least. Something that did bring a true grin to her face as she took a slight hop and spun on one foot to turn and face the older demon. She held out both hands as if beckoning him to come play in the area as well.

Now, the climate did suite Leilani far better than the crisp air had, but for Ithe who was wearing a heavier coat as well as a sweater? Not so much. He didn't mind heat, but humidity did get to him and usually caused a bit of a sluggish effect. He remained fine for a minute or two, but by the time Leilani was ready to dance and play he wanted to take and seat and watch. Or exit the area, that much was enough for him. "Oh, well... why don't you explore a bit first?" The area was safe afterall and it'd give him a chance to adjust. For the time being he'd just have to tug at his shirt collar a few more times and pretend he was down at the south pole. Or at least somewhere else.

Leilani frowned briefly, watching the man a moment before taking a few quick steps to the side and peeking at a plant curiously. Then starting to edge toward another odd looking bushy plant. She understood that it wasn't that he didn't want to play, because he did sometimes play with her, but something else. Even if the area felt like paradise to her, maybe it was something else to him.

It was more difficult than Raven had thought, pulling her weight at two research facilities. Of course, at D-Corp, all she had to do was teach a few lessons and make sure her charge and his dragon stayed out of trouble. Her personal research project was another story, but Mahou had taken most of the responsibility for those girls, and a good thing. They might have had fascinating magical potential, but they were absolutely intolerable.

And then there was Eirinn. For a while, Raven worried that she would be stuck with another willfull or useless charge. But the girl was quiet and obedient... or at least, as obedient as a toddler could be. It made the time that Raven spent at the labs more pleasant, and since she had to spend more time there, it worked out well in the end.

She reflected on these things as she walked to the tropical greenhouse, carrying the surprisingly light Eirinn in her arms. Her latest series of observations involved putting the specimens in different environments, and a shamrock would certainly be out of her element in the humid rainforest. Raven was in a similar situation, not being acclamated to such conditions, and quickly pulled off her coat. It really was quite hot.

Still a bit sleepy, Eirinn looked dimly around. It was hot, which made her even more tired, and tiny beads of moisture collected in her hair and around the leaves that formed her lower half. There was also dew on one of the nearby plants, which Eirinn batted at- only to reveal a brightly colored girl behind it. Squeaking loudly, she let the plant go. What was that?

Ithe had taken to resting off to the side, occaisionally tugging at his collar to keep the clothe off of his skin. He'd resisted the urge to remove the jacket for the sheer fact he didn't want trouble. For all he knew there was a rule about wearing labcoats in the greenhouses they he hadn't read yet. That, or just the fact that he was being too sluggish to switch the identification tag from his coat to his shirt. He deemed it a bit of both as he started to shuffle along to keep the brilliant coloured girl in sight. It wouldn't do to loose her. Even in a confined setting.

Leilani had begun to turn away form a bush and started to move for a new one when a noise caught her attention. Not the sort of thing that plants made. The childish reaction of the boogieman quickly popped into her head as she turned to check on her caretakers location. Just rounding a bush into sight.

A small sigh of relief as she glanced toward the plant fearfully and began inching toward the corner to peek around. A few more inches and the child found herself peeking at a woman with purple hair and a green child. No evil monster man though.

"Lani, did you find something interesting?" The demon attempted to force a bit of enthusiasm into his voice as he spoke. Peering at the child as she nodded in his direction before rounding the corner. "Well... she's not afraid of exploring." Which was always a good thing.

The small girl hopped around the corner curiously, peering up at the woman about as curious as anything could be. She looked a bit like her father. Tired and such. But not coat on. Then to the creature in her arms. It was small like her. Something her size, she hadn't met anyone else like that. Perhaps she'd want to play instead?

One hand reached up to try and snag the other child's as a smile made it's way onto her face. A few hops to try and snag that which was out of her reach. Adults were far too tall.

"What on Gaia is it?" Raven demanded, looking around. If there was something out of the ordinary, she was better off reporting it. Perhaps it was in her best interest to go and see what the commotion was about. But then again, it was hot, and she was tired.

Soon the disturbance made itself clear, however, in the form of a small, brightly colored and clearly tropical girl. She was probably at home in the stifling heat, Raven noted bitterly. "Are you running around alone, girl?"

Eirinn had been huddling in Raven's arms, however when the girl came around the bend, she peeked through a gap between the fingers that covered her eyes. When she was convinced that there was no big scary thing waiting to carry her off, she dropped her hands entirely, and squeaked again when she felt someone grab onto them.

Then, seeing that it was just another girl, she relaxed slightly, but stayed silent.

Leilani blinked as the woman asked the question before quickly shaking her head. No, she was never alone. Ithe always made sure she had company unless she was in her room. Something about how no one liked being alone. Though the woman was given no spoken reply and was quickly dropped to pay more attention to the other child.

She'd managed to snag it's hands after a few tries and shook them gently as if in a handshake. Or perhaps some game she'd just made up. It didn't matter so much as long as she had someone to play with.

Ithe rounded the corner at that moment, taking in the scene with a casual glance. "Lani, make sure you aren't bother them." Not that he thought she was, but it was best to sound as if he was minding her closely. Rather than the loose reign he had. Who knew if the woman was big with the top people. Or maybe not. She seemed fairly relaxed considering her coat was off. Then again, it could also be seen as her security with her job. Things where hard to judge at a glance.

"I hope she's not being a trouble."

No. Well then, she had to have an observer around somewhere. Raven waited for him or her to show up, and in the meantime, looked for a place to sit so that the little girl and Eirinn could socialize. After all, that was part of development, and if it could be this painless for all involved, all the better.

The touch of someone else was strange, but also nice. Eirinn let out a tiny smile and shook hands back. No one had done that with her before. The girl's soft hands were nice, and when she moved, they ticked. Giggling, Eirinn let go of one of the hands and brought it to her head.

There, a bench. Raven moved to sit, and at the same time saw a young man in a labcoat approaching. "I take it she is with you?" she asked, voice brisk. "You shouldn't let her wander off like that."

A bit blunt for a new Observer, but then, Raven was like that.

Whining a little as she was carried away from the other girl, Eirinn reached out again when she was seated. She wanted to play more!

Oh yes, he had to find one that was in with the bigwigs. Utterly confident and comfortable with her station. A quick appologetic smile was offered in silence as he moved to pat the child on the head. Attempting to avoid looking like the climate in the room was bothering him for the moment. "Lani, she's right you now. Don't go too far ahead of me." Mainly to cut any chance that the observer would go reporting him for this. At least he hoped.

The child paused as the woman walked away, letting her hand drop as she eyed her keeper. She'd liked playing with the giggly little one, but he did seem a bit upset over something. Not ike before when it was just fatigue and discomfort. Now it seemed as if some stress had appeared on his face between the fake appearances.

For if there was one thing the child was good at, it was knowing expressions. Understanding tones was harder, but appearances were hard to mask properly. So the faint things showed through.

Even so... A wishful look was cast at the child who was now reaching out toward her, a testing step in the direction. She'd been told not to wander too far, but this was still in sight. A quick glance for permision.

"If the woman says it's alright." To which both turned to look at Raven for a response

But Raven was content with the action that her fellow Observer took. After all, if he got in trouble for it, it would be on his head, not hers. She frowned, however, when the pair seemed to communicate without talking. Was the other Observer a telepath? If so, things might prove problematic for her. There was no point in asking though; if he was, he would already know her question.

Why wasn't the other girl coming over? Eirinn wanted to see her again, but there wasn't much she could do about it. Squirming, she tried to reach over Raven's arms, but that was all the action she could take.

Raising an eyebrow, Raven nodded. "Go ahead. This is Eirinn, and I am Raven. It is a pleasure, sir."

Ithe might have laughed had she asked the question. Not for the fact it was pointless, but for the sheer reason he was in Gaia. He'd failed at such things in his own world so had been stripped of the abilities and tossed into the world. If anything, the very idea he'd have such an ability was beyond him. A humerous thought.

Leilani only needed the nod before she darted over happily. Not bothering to wait for the introduction she knew Ithe would give. She wanted to play with Eirinn, as the child had been dubbed. She quickly took the other child's hands again. This tie it was easier, as the woman was sitting. A few quick lifting of her hands while clutching the other's before moving them as if clapping. It was a clapping game of sorts afterall. She'd seen it on the television one morning. A sort of clapping dance the bright coloured people had been doing.

Ithe smiled lightly as the child darted forward to play, turning his attention back up to the woman. "A pleasure to meet you as well, Raven. My name is Ithe, and that is Leilani." He gestured to the child who cast a quick smile up at Raven before returning to her game. "What brings you here today?" General chatter to pass the time. Make a good impression. That sort of thing. Best to be on the big wings underlings good side afterall.

After a few moments passed and there was no response, Raven relaxed slightly. There was no action taken, so he must not have noticed. That was a relief. Working with a telepath would have been rather troublesome for her, but instead, the man appeared entirely harmless.

"I see," she murmured. More audibly, she continued "Not much, today... Ithe? An unusual name. Are you a local, Ithe?" Not that Raven was especially educated when it came to local culture, but then, that was why she asked. It was always a good idea to learn more.

Frowning- for Eirinn was not used to playing games- the green-haired girl clapped her hands as well, in a crude imitation of her playmate. She didn't really understand what was going on, but she was definitely going to try and keep up!

Harmless was probably the best way to describe Ithe, so long as you didn't know about his hobby. Of course, such things would never make it back to work, so he wasn't something for Raven to worry over.

"Oh, well I suppose it is." He paused, trying to decide how best to explain his bit of background. "I've been living here for about seven years, but no. I'm not really from around here." Certainly not. "I've found living here to be pleasant though." Certainly, not nearly as competitive. Unless of course it was for a job, but other aspects were more relaxed. "What about you Ms. Raven?"

Leilani beamed at the fact the the other child was playing along. She too was trying to do her own imitation of the dance and failing to some extent. A quick twirl like they'd done on the television and she threw her hands up in some big finish before giggling. Dancing was good on it's own, sure, but with someone else it was a lot more fun. Maybe she could get Ithe to practice with her at home so she could do the game better.

Another non-native then. Raven found that somewhat refreshing, though she wondered how anyone who hadn't been born there could stand to survive the nuances of Gaia for so long. Still, she didn't bring it up, more interested in the world that he'd originated in.

The fact that he called her "Ms." rubbed Raven the right way, even though it would be more proper for them to call each other Observer. "Actually, I am also a migrant, though I have not been here for nearly as long as you. Less than two years, in fact. Though they have been... rewarding."

Cradled in Raven's arms, Eirinn couldn't very well twirl around. She did, however, wave her fingers at Leilani, clenching them into fists and then stretching them out again. But she was more interested in watching. The other girl looked so pretty when she did that!

She seemed pleased enough with the answer. Excellent, no long drawn out explaination of how he ended up there. Just a nice casual chat about her past instead. Such would be a far more fitting conversation.

"Oh, is that so?" So from out of town, or something like that. Though the last bit... "Might I inquire as to how they have been rewarding? Certainly the area is a place of many opportunities, perhaps the fates smiled on you a bit more though?" Certainly a curiosity and possibly useful information. Seven years wasn't enough to learn all of the world's customs afterall. "If you don't mind of course."

Leilani grinned and clapped her hands a bit more trying to mimic the things she'd watched further. It seemed to please Eirinn and it was fun to do, so that made it even better. This time she tried another one she'd seen, hands falling to her hips as she waggled her bum back and forth briefly in some mock behavior. The show was meant for children and to teach them things through song and dance. Leilani just happened to focus more on the dances.

Wonderful, the conversation was back on her. Taking care to answer with the least amount of detail possible, Raven stammered for a moment. "I... well, my research has advanced greatly. While I enjoy science in some respects, my true field is magic." That wasn't censored information; in fact, Raven enjoyed people knowing some of what she could do. "So if you need a consultation, I may be able to provide some assistance."

Nothing like a little self-advertisement to seal the deal.

That looked like so much fun, Eirinn thought. She wanted to try. But her struggling went unnoticed for the most part. Finally, she actually pulled on Raven's blouse, something she never did because it made her caretaker get loud.

Predictably, Raven snapped angrily. "What? You want to get down? Fine." Without any delay she set the toddler down on the bench, and started to smooth her blouse. Really, children these days.

The man noted the brief pause before her answer, but quickly disregarded it. Simply recalling past information, she had nothing to hide right? They were co-workers afterall, wouldn't it be best to get along? And it wasn't as if the question was too personal, was it?

Though her answer did perk his interest. Not so much the lesser degree in science as, magic? Quite curious. "Oh? Is that so?" He couldn't help smiling slightly at the thought. "I do know a bit about magic, not so much, but... something." He'd never been extremely fond of the stuff. Perhaps his field was more science, but he prefered manipulating objects rather than the spiritual side of things. Still, it was always intriguing to hear about. "I will certainly come to you should the need arrise for aid in that field." Not that Peru would ike that idea much, it was best to get along with others.

Leilani was quite overjoyed that Eirinn seemed to want to join in. The games seemed a lot more fun with more people, so obviously it had to be true. She quickly scooted over to take the game back to the other child, slightly dismissing Raven's behavior. She was just grumpy.

Ithe, however, didn't simply shrug it off. If anything Ithe was a good parent in the sense he had quite a bit of patience. The outburst was something that was curious. Not that he mentioned it. Perhaps it was normal to be short tempered with children.
